Jan. 27, 2026 – Candidate filing for Anchorage’s 2026 Regular Municipal Election is now open, with the deadline just days away.
The filing period opened Friday, Jan. 16, and will close Friday, Jan. 30, at 5 pm. Candidates must file in person at one of two municipal locations:
MOA Election Center
619 East Ship Creek Ave., Door D (east side of the building)
Monday–Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
Municipal Clerk’s Office
Anchorage City Hall
632 W. 6th Avenue, Suite 250
Tuesday–Friday, 9 am to 3 pm
The 2026 Regular Municipal Election will determine several key local offices, including Anchorage Assembly seats and School Board positions, setting the stage for taxes, public safety, education, and decisions such as changing the city’s official seal.
Prospective candidates can find filing forms, eligibility requirements, and official guidance through the Municipal Clerk’s Office election portal.
