Oct. 10, 2026 – It’s more drama this week for Mary Peltola, or Mary “Peltocchio,” as some Alaskans now call her, in reference to her habitual lying.
Peltola’s campaign has enlisted Elias Law Group to demand that the Alaska Landmine remove a report alleging she repeatedly used the N-word in 2024, escalating a dispute between the socialist Senate candidate and Alaska political writer Jeff Landfield.
Marc Elias served as general counsel (and attorney of record) for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and was involved in the Steele Dossier scandal;. Elias served as the lawyer who arranged and oversaw the funding and engagement of Fusion GPS for the Clinton campaign/DNC, which directly led to Steele’s production of the dossier that manufactured lies about Donald Trump.
Landfield’s Oct. 9 article attributes the allegations to two former staffers who spoke anonymously, citing fear of retaliation. Peltola’s campaign categorically denies the claims. The fear of retaliation was not without cause.
According to Landfield’s report, one former staffer alleged that Peltola used the racial slur while angrily discussing money her campaign spent on tables at an October 2024 dinner honoring Black soldiers who helped construct the Alaska Highway.
A second former staffer alleged she repeated the word during a spring 2024 campaign meeting involving discussion of her son’s rap videos.
The Landmine included campaign expenditure records and event photographs as supporting context.
After publication, the Peltola campaign called the report an outright lie and attacked both Landfield and a former employee. Its statement said Mary would never use the word.
Then came the legal threat — a three-page letter addressed to Landfield.
The most notorious Democrat legal firm in the country demanded immediate removal of the article from the Landmine’s website and every other platform where it had been published or shared.
The firm characterized the sources as disgruntled former employees pursuing a personal vendetta, and accused the Landmine of publishing without giving the campaign sufficient time to comment. Landfield’s article says the campaign did not respond to his request before publication but that he added campaign comments when they were provided.
The letter threatens possible legal action if the article remains online and demands preservation of documents and communications, including exchanges with sources. It’s a lawsuit threat that could cost Landmine tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees.
Landfield says he is not taking the story down.
The other side of Mary Peltola: Former aides describe outbursts, slurs and firings
The dispute follows a separate investigation published by The New York Times on Sept. 23, which described allegations of angry outbursts, offensive language and mistreatment of staff.
That reporting contained two distinct slur accounts. Four former aides said they heard Peltola use a homophobic slur, (faggot), which her campaign denied. The newspaper also reviewed a text containing a slur directed at people with intellectual disabilities (retards); her campaign acknowledged that language was inappropriate.
Suzanne Downing: The Mary Peltola meltdown as her abusive text messages surface
The Alaska Story is not aware of a comparable public legal demand directed at the Times by the Elias group, which raises a question about the campaign’s response to the two publications — not taking on the Times, even though disputing the allegations, but threatening a local political writer in Alaska.
The firm now threatening the Landmine is a major player in dirty Democratic politics beyond the Hillary Clinton campaign for president and the Steele Dossier.
Marc Elias, has represented Democratic campaign committees, presidential campaigns and numerous elected officials. His firm describes its mission as helping Democrats win and advancing progressive change. Its biography credits Elias with four Supreme Court victories and more than 60 victories against challenges brought by Trump and his allies following the 2020 election.
Elias represented Al Franken during the disputed 2008 Minnesota Senate recount and served as general counsel to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. In that role, he retained Fusion GPS for opposition research that led to the controversial Steele dossier.
For Alaska voters, the latest dispute also brings renewed attention to an earlier contradiction between Peltola’s public statements and her campaign’s advertising. The lies have been nonstop since she first ran for Congress.
In once instance that is memorable, at the Oct. 8, 2024, Kodiak fisheries debate, Nick Begich challenged a Peltola advertisement in which Peltola claimed that if he was elected, all of Alaska’s fish would disappear. The claim was made several ways:
- An ad titled “If Nick wins, our fish are gone.”
- “If you elect Nick Begich, there’ll be no more fish.”
- “If Nick Begich has it his way, the fisheries we rely on won’t be around for future generations. Do not let this happen.”
- “If Nick Begich has it his way… How many fish, NONE.”
Peltola denied knowing about the advertisements, saying: “I know nothing of this. That was not my ad.” She said the claim was “petty backbiting.” But even mainstream media reported that her ad warned that Nick Begich would destroy all fish.
The advertisement remained on her campaign website at the conclusion of the debate.
Peltola has become known in some circles as “Peltocchio,” for her habitual tall tales.
Julie Fate Sullivan finally has had enough of Peltola’s lying about her husban

What a Time for Peltola character to be revealed and for Democrat leaning voters to find out about their groups leaders pick for US Senate was a riskier selection then they thought.
See why I dislike October. Everything gets crazier, I blame it on having Halloween at the end of the month, we need to make a motion to remove Halloween off the calendar. Then it’ll just be another boring month without a holiday.
Poor Mister Landfield, the witch is brewing in her preparation to stick him in it
I thought for sure this Saturday the mensas on this site would be debating whether Mike Ditka was vaxxed? I mean what other explanation could there be for a 86 year old man with an extensive cardiovascular history to suddenly pass away?
It’s Saturday, don’t you have laundry to do???
You just lied . you said ” IThought” you don’t think, you just repeat your downloaded talking points, like the troll you are
Good on Jeff Landfield!
While I rarely agree with his articles, he provides another perspective.
I believe Mary Peltola’s reason for going after him is probably twofold:
A) The NYT has money and lawyers to tell her to stick it, the NYT is 4000 miles away and who knows how many voters actually believe the NYT.
B) The Landmine on the other hand, is a local, small publication yet it directly reaches Alaskan voters and more importantly democrat leaning Alaskan voters. To the campaign this proximity is clearly the more immediate threat.
The fact that Peltola instead of responding with an interview or rebuttal comments The Landmine could publish, responds with threats and demands, once again shows more of her disposition and character to bully anyone in her way. In essence it is confirming the very nature of the accusations both the NYT and The Landmine put forth.
Mary assumed she was a protected species, and that nobody could gainsay a Native. She found out it doesn’t really work that way.
“……..Landfield’s Oct. 9 article attributes the allegations to two former staffers who spoke anonymously, citing fear of retaliation……..”
Well, those fears of retaliation are hereby validated. A lawsuit has the potential of smoking the staffers out.
Wow. I thought Sullivan was toast, but the Fish Princess’s potty mouth is making it closer.
I had to look up the correct way to spell Princess’s. Singular possessive of “Princess” is not a word I think I have ever written.
If Mary Peltola ever calls me a faggot to my face I’m going to slap that bitch hard.
I can’t believe Congressman Jeffries would put up with her moaning out the “N word” while they are making whoopie in the shadows of the Capitol building. Nick’s uncle was nice enough to back out of this governor’s race. I’ll return the favor and vote for NB3.
Geez. Faggot. N****r. Is there any word that’s off limits for the skwa?
