Sept. 26, 2026 – Donna Brazile, the former interim chair of the Democratic National Committee whose conduct during the 2016 presidential primary destroyed her credibility, is urging people to support Mary Peltola’s campaign for US Senate.
“Please stand with @MaryPeltola. She will fight for all Alaskans,” Brazile wrote in a post on X sharing Peltola’s call for congressional term limits, a ban on all stock trading by members of Congress and an end to Citizens United. Brazile added that Peltola is “tough but principled and honest” and said she plans to donate to her campaign again.
The endorsement brings a familiar national Democratic figure into Peltola’s race against Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan. Brazile’s description of Peltola as “honest” is also striking given Brazile’s own deceptive history in Democratic politics.
Brazile has spent five decades in Democratic politics, working on presidential campaigns dating back to Jimmy Carter’s 1976 run. Her campaign work included efforts forJesse Jackson in 1984, and she later managed Al Gore’s 2000 presidential campaign.
Brazile held senior roles at the Democratic National Committee, written books about her political career and worked as a television commentator. Her endorsement of Peltola comes from a longtime national party insider with deep ties to Democratic campaigns.
In 2016, Brazile was a CNN contributor and DNC vice chair when she sent Hillary Clinton some of the questions expected to be raised at CNN’s televised primary events. One email concerned a death-penalty question ahead of a CNN and TV One town hall. Another alerted the campaign to a question about the Flint, Michigan, water crisis before a debate. CNN said it had not supplied Brazile with the questions and accepted her resignation as a contributor.
At first, Brazile denied sharing the debate questions. In a later 2017 column for Time, she acknowledged sending the emails and called it “a mistake I will forever regret.” She said she had tried to help Democratic candidates look good and disputed the suggestion that she had favored Clinton over Bernie Sanders. The disclosures nevertheless deepened Sanders supporters’ concerns about the party’s treatment of his campaign. Sanders won the majority of Alaska Democratic caucus votes.
Brazile created another stink after taking over as interim DNC chair. In her 2017 book Hacks, she described a fundraising agreement that she said gave Clinton’s campaign substantial influence over the financially troubled Democratic National Committee before Clinton had secured the nomination. Brazile called the arrangement unethical, but she said it was not criminal.
When former Vice President Kamala Harris sent an unsolicited fundraising appeal on Peltola’s behalf earlier in the race, Peltola’s campaign distanced itself from the effort due to Harris’ bad reputation in Alaska. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a socialist from New York’s Brooklyn neighborhood, has also endorsed Peltola.

Radical, insane, Marxist, anti-American Democrats sticking together hoping to turn their party into the neo-communist party of America. The old Democrat Party is being transformed. That’s their goal.
One thing in common, they are not the brightest of candidates. Kamala and her word gift, AOC and her explanation of economics was laughable and completely wrong, and Brazile with her fake green energy company that Biden gave her 1 billion. Grifter Mary, well she was fired once before for doing nothing except hurting Alaska.
