Alex Gimarc: The lying claims behind the latest anti-Sullivan ads

Sept. 25, 2026 – The anti-Dan S. Sullivan hits just keep on coming from the pro-Peltola Sisterhood.

The latest from a shadowy group that identifies itself as Women.vote makes two hair-raising claims. The first is that Sullivan supported the largest Medicaid cut in history. The second being he personally voted himself and seven other Republican US Senators half a million dollars.

Cue the feigned outrage from the same crowd falling all over itself to excuse potty mouth Peltola being beastly to her staff.

Three things come to mind with this.

First is the dark money crowd running the ad. It turns out that they have no web site. None at all. You have to do a bit of digging to find that they are an adjunct “affiliated organization” connected to Emilys List, a wildly hard-core feminist money laundering operation. Once again, Outside dark money mucking around in Alaska’s elections.

Wasn’t RCV supposed to stop this sort of thing? Apparently not.

Second, we have the specious claim that he supported cuts in Medicaid. Ads this week have a woman hiding behind her autistic son in a wheelchair claiming that Sullivan supported the largest Medicaid cut in history, jacking up her medical costs. This is patently false, as Medicaid was not cut in any legislation. None.

What did happen was that Obamacare subsidies expired Dec 31, 2025. These were extended under the Biden-Pelosi-Schumer Congress in 2021 to hide the actual expense of Obamacare from users. Average premium costs more than doubled as a result of the expiration.

Republican reaction was to budget to reinstate the subsidy. Democrats in both houses of congress repeatedly refused to support reinstatement, figuring they would rather use the issue for the midterms than fix the problem, a typical democrat response.

The final piece de resistance is the claim that Sullivan along with 7 other Republican senators voted themselves half a million dollars in legislation that ended the 43-day long government shutdown Nov 2025. The provision was in response to Special Counsel Jack Smith illegally obtaining phone data of sitting congress critters during his investigation into the Jan 6 riot. It allows any senator named to be paid statutory damages of $500,000 or actual amount if higher plus legal expenses for each violation.

To date, the House voted unanimously to repeal it Nov 2025. The Senate has yet to act, mostly because of the senators whom Jack Smith illegally targeted without valid judicial warrant for the data object to passing the repeal via unanimous consent. To the best of my knowledge, no senator has been paid anything while congress took nearly immediate steps to repeal the provision.

While I am not a big fan of these sorts of payments coming out of the public dime, I do appreciate the sentiment. In my perfect world, the penalty would come straight out of the personal pockets of Jack Smith and every single democrat political hack involved in the investigation who committed these illegal acts against sitting legislators.

When the news hit the rotating machinery in late 2025, all the Usual Suspects on the left in Alaska, Juneau Empire, democrat mouthpieces, etc, were shocked, simply shocked that Sullivan could possible stand to benefit from Smith’s intentional lawbreaking, thought the issue quickly disappeared until the Peltola cheerleaders among the Sisterhood dredged it up last week.

What do we have with this set of ads? We have a shadowy Outside feminist NGO that doesn’t even have a website at this writing, claiming that Sullivan voted to cut Medicaid (he didn’t), which in turn jacked up their medical insurance costs (it didn’t, though the democrat senate decision to use expiration of O’BamaCare subsidies as a campaign issue for the midterms did), ending with a claim that Sullivan voted himself half a million dollars (he didn’t).

If this is the best the Sisterhood can do, perhaps we need fewer women in the political wars than increasing their numbers. You ladies are hardly knocking it out of the park with this foolishness.

It kind of makes me wonder if Peltola or her cheerleaders can tell the truth about something? Anything? And if they are unable or willing to do so, what possible reason do we have to vote for them?
