United States Chamber of Commerce endorses Sen. Dan S. Sullivan for reelection

By THE ALASKA STORY

Aug. 14, 2026 – The US Chamber of Commerce has endorsed Republican Sen. Dan S. Sullivan for reelection, adding the nation’s largest business advocacy organization to the growing coalition behind the two-term Alaska senator.

The endorsement gives Sullivan significant support from the business community as Alaska’s U.S. Senate campaign enters its final stretch before the Aug. 18 primary election.

“The U.S. Chamber is proud to endorse Senator Dan Sullivan, a steadfast champion for Alaska’s small businesses, families and workers,” said former Illinois Rep. Rodney Davis, the Chamber’s senior vice president of government affairs.

Davis said Sullivan has consistently backed policies intended to strengthen the economy and expand opportunity in Alaska.

“We look forward to continuing our partnership with him in another successful term in the U.S. Senate,” Davis said.

Sullivan welcomed the endorsement, arguing that Alaska’s entrepreneurs and employers—not federal bureaucrats—are best positioned to make decisions about investment, expansion and job creation.

“Our state’s small businesses, workers, and entrepreneurs are crucial to our economy and they know better than Washington bureaucrats how to invest, grow, and create good-paying jobs right here in Alaska,” Sullivan said.

Sullivan pointed to his work in the Senate to cut taxes, reduce federal regulations and encourage increased energy development in Alaska.

“I’ve fought successfully to cut taxes, put more money in people’s pockets, reduce burdensome regulations, unleash Alaskan energy, and create more opportunities for Alaskans,” Sullivan said. “I will keep fighting to ensure Alaska’s businesses and workers have every opportunity to succeed.”

The Chamber’s backing is especially notable in an election centered heavily on the economy, energy development, federal regulations and Alaska’s high cost of living. Its endorsement signals that the national business organization views Sullivan as the strongest advocate in the race for private-sector growth and investment.

The US Chamber joins several organizations supporting Sullivan’s reelection, including the National Rifle Association, Americans for Prosperity Action and Concerned Veterans for America Action.

Sullivan is seeking a third term in the Senate and faces Democrat Mary Peltola and other candidates in Alaska’s jungle top-four primary. The four candidates receiving the most votes on Aug. 18 will advance to the November general election.

  1. Sad to see people voting with their wallets. Real issues such as the genocide in Gaza, ending the war in Ukraine, ending the war in Iran, passing the Voter ID act, etc. Sullivan fails miserably with all of it. He is a blood thirsty sicko on par with the late lindsey graham.

    1. What genocide in Gaza????? How,does a ” genocide” increase the targeted population???? I don’t think that word means, what you think it means

  2. Remember sullivan throwing a fit over Senator Tuberville holding up general promotions? Senator Tuberville was protesting the Department of Defense paying travel expenses for soldiers seeking abortions across state lines. Why didn’t our “conservative” senator join Tuberville in protest or work to end the DOD policy of facilitating the murder of innocent babies? Why hasn’t sullivan thrown a fit and demand that Voter ID gets passed? WHY?! Sullivan is a carpetbagging RINO! Wake up people!
