RNC reports 240,000 door knocks, more than 1,000 volunteers in Alaska turnout push

Nov. 2, 2026 – The Republican National Committee says its Alaska ground operation has knocked on more than 240,000 doors, recruited more than 1,000 volunteers, and held 200 field trainings heading into Tuesday’s election.

The figures obtained by The Alaska Story offer a look at the national party’s investment in Alaska, where Republicans are working to turn voter contacts into ballots in races up and down the ticket.

The RNC has a state director and multiple regional field staff stationed in communities across Alaska, along with personnel assigned to election oversight. Staff, volunteers, and partners have participated in the canvassing effort.

The door-knocking total is the equivalent to 74% of households statewide.

Sen. Dan S. Sullivan credited the organization with helping his campaign and other Republican candidates.

“The RNC has been a valuable partner in this election, and have constantly engaged on the ground to help Republicans up and down the ballot, get Alaskans out to vote, and inform voters exactly how terrible Mary Peltola would be for our state,” Sullivan said in a statement.

The Alaska operation is part of a broader national effort aimed at voters who do not consistently participate in elections. The RNC says it has deployed 304 staffers across 22 states, including Alaska, to lead canvassing operations.

Alongside turnout work, the RNC says it has built an Alaska election oversight operation that includes a deputy election integrity state director, regional personnel, and in-state legal counsel; it is working with Republican candidates to recruit election observers.

The Alaska Republican Party also plans to operate an in-state hotline for voters to report problems, according to information obtained by The Alaska Story.

Nationally, the RNC says about 21,500 poll workers have signed up, nearly twice its total at the same point in the 2024 cycle.

The committee also highlighted its work examining Daniel J. Sullivan Jr., the Senate candidate Republicans call “Decoy Dan.” The RNC says its research identified Democratic political connections involving his donation history, campaign personnel, and family employment.

RNC Chairman Joe Gruters tied the organization’s Alaska work directly to the Senate contest.

“The Last Frontier has a tireless champion in Dan. S. Sullivan and it has been a privilege to assist his campaign as they face shameful ballot rigging attempts by Democrats to cheat their way into power. The RNC is committed to fighting on all fronts to secure our elections and deliver Republican wins across the country,” Gruters said.

The committee’s update also pointed to visits by President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and administration officials as part of the effort to activate Alaska voters and promote the Republican agenda.

It cited Vance’s Oct. 5 appearances in Fairbanks and Anchorage and Trump’s Oct. 13 rally in Wasilla, along with visits by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Energy Secretary Chris Wright, and Gruters.

For Election Day, the RNC says its focus is preparing to respond to problems and monitoring compliance with Alaska election laws, from registration through ballot counting.
