Sept. 18, 2026 – The Anchorage home long associated with Democratic US Senate candidate Mary Peltola and her late husband, Eugene “Buzzy” Peltola Jr., has been placed on the market.
The luxury four-bedroom Goldenview house was listed Thursday for $800,000 by Renue Realty. The 3,575-square-foot home has three bathrooms, an attached three-car garage and sweeping views of Cook Inlet, according to the real-estate listing.
The property is being handled for the family by Buzzy Peltola’s son, Eugene Peltola III, according to information researched by The Alaska Story.
Municipality of Anchorage assessment records still identify Eugene R. Peltola Jr. as the property’s owner, nearly three years after his death in a September 2023 plane crash. The municipal record does not list Mary Peltola as a co-owner; municipal assessment records are used for taxation and may not reflect transfers made through probate, an estate, a trust or a recently recorded deed. Mary Peltola is in court over the Buzzy Peltola estate, an issue not yet resolved between her and his children from a previous marriage.
But the sale is politically noteworthy because Mary Peltola has built much of her public identity around Bethel and rural Alaska while spending substantial time at the Anchorage residence.
During her first campaign for Congress in 2022, the Anchorage Daily News reported that Peltola was returning most days to sleep in Anchorage, where her husband owned a home. Subsequent public reporting identified the Goldenview house as the Peltolas’ Anchorage residence.
Peltola has continued to emphasize her Bethel roots throughout her campaigns and regularly speaks of the Southwest Alaska community as home. Her more recent election materials, however, reflect Anchorage as her home.
In her 2026 official voter pamphlet biography, Peltola lists Bethel as a community where she lived through 2025 and Anchorage as her residence from 2025 to the present. Earlier candidate biographies had presented Bethel as her current home.
“Alaskan Communities Lived in: Kwethluk 1980-1982, Tuntutuliak 1982-1984, Platinum 1985-1987, Bethel 1973-1979, 1988-2025, Anchorage 2025-present,” her statement reads.
The Goldenview property was previously listed for $610,000 in 2019. The new listing places its asking price at $800,000 and describes the house as having a large kitchen with granite countertops and a butler’s pantry, a wall of windows, a primary suite with a fireplace and jetted tub, and views of Cook Inlet and Alaska sunsets.
Buzzy Peltola, a former Alaska regional director for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, died three years ago, when the small airplane he was piloting crashed shortly after takeoff near St. Mary’s. He and Mary Peltola had been married since 2011.
It is unclear where Mary Peltola will live if the Goldenview property is sold. She owns a luxury house on Saunders Road that she bought in July of 2025. She does not have it listed as her primary residence. She has maintained longstanding family and political ties to Bethel, but her official 2026 candidate biography now identifies Anchorage as her present community.
Peltola is challenging Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan in the Nov. 3 general election.

That sounds like quite a home for a mere $800,000. Maybe the glass window wall and impending LNG shortage in AK make it less desirable. Priced to sell, in any case. Or there is something deeply flawed with it.

Note, the lot is probably 1-1/4 acres. I’ve seen like sized homes on the lower hillside in 10,000 sf lot subdivisions go for over $900k a couple of years ago.

The 2026 tax valuation on the house alone is $706,900 and it sits on a 14,776sf lot. The front is north-facing.
Well. It’s good the Widow (of four husbands) is downsizing even though she is downsizing for the wrong reasons. She just wants to go back to WashingtonDC for social networking (and maybe finding an husband for her Senior years) while bettering her job prospects for her next fifteen years before she can retire and sit on her butt watching MSNBC waiting for the AFN Convention.
Single woman with grown children, a one bedroom condominium will be more practical.

Golden view is conveniently located where the residents can continue voting for Anchorage’s government dependent leadership without them having to experience The Screaming, yelling, cursing, fighting hobos on their neat and quiet neighborhood streets.

Has an explanation ever emerged as to why the late “Buzzy” Peltola, as an employee of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, ended up with dozens and dozens of firearms that were once owned by other people? Or is this story imaginary? Or were the firearms imaginary? Or do federal rules on such matters not apply to him? (Asking for a friend.)
By Mary’s own political filings, she should be arrested for violating Federal and State subsistence laws for fishing in a restricted River this spring.

Moose hyde teepees can be constructed quite cheaply. Mary probably saved and collected lots of life insurance from those spare husbands, getting ready for the good life. As senator she can buy nice digs in DC with gold plated honey buckets for those late night drug parties with Jeffries and AOC. Maybe she will lure a new, prospective spare husband while missing those floor votes.

The story clearly says the home was owned by her husband- Alaskan law is very clear on this matter. I’m not going to explain it to you- look it up so you can educate yourselves and learn a thing. When she was campaigning, she was traveling… AS ALL CANDIDATES DO. You fools act as if this is a foreign concept. Those of us who live in Alaska darn well know it is very common for folks to rest their head in multiple places here- but there is always one place we consider home above all else. And I can assure you no candidate ever considered the Motel 6 where they rested their head to be home. I’m sure she was thankful to have family in town to provide a place to stay as hotels and traveling are expensive. Ya’ll would have been running her up the pole for the cost of travel and food otherwise. Candidate on the otherwise of the party always get demonized for ridiculous nonsense. She obviously had some claim to her late husband’s estate, and was known in Anchorage to stay at the Goldenview residence. And she bought the house on Saunders Rd. As Willie pointed out, by her own filings, her subsistence fishing this last spring would be illegal. Your position, apparently, is that Mary is somehow allowed to simply make up her own laws. As an aside, I’ve always found it odd that lefties always seem to love using the terms “folk” and “y’all” when attempting to explain away questionable behavior.
