Peltola disruptors heckle and disrupt Sullivan’s Chugiak-Eagle River chamber update; senator fires back at evening veterans event

Oct. 9,.2026 – Disruptors barged in and disrupted US Sen. Dan Sullivan’s legislative update in Eagle River on Thursday, with some of them removed from the event after interfering with his remarks.

The Chugiak-Eagle River Chamber of Commerce hosted the noon presentation, billed as a “Washington, D.C. Update with Senator Dan Sullivan,” at Jalapeños Mexican Restaurant. The gathering was a chamber legislative update, not a campaign rally.

The Mary Peltola supporters harassed attendees, attempted to push cameras close to Sullivan’s face, and interrupted his presentation. One chanted, “No gasline, no to LNG.”

The anti-gasline chant targeted a major development priority for Sullivan, who has advocated for the Alaska LNG project.

Photographs with this article show people outside the venue, including one holding up a cellphone.

Later that evening, Sullivan addressed the chamber disruption during a separate veterans gathering at a VFW hall in Eagle River.

Speaking about the possibility of disruptors being in that audience, Sullivan delivered a blunt warning:

“I think you maybe better quietly remove yourself before you get your ass seriously kicked. And by the way, you can quote me on that.”

The veterans crowd responded favorably. A clip of the remarks was posted on X by reporter Alex Roarty.

The incident also comes as Peltola has passed up opportunities to appear alongside him before business and community audiences.

The Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce’s Oct. 20 congressional forum listing explicitly states that Peltola declined its invitation to speak. Sullivan, Rep. Nick Begich, and House challenger Bill Hill (Democrat supported) are listed as participants.

The Alaska Chamber’s business summit agenda says an Oct. 16 session originally planned as a US Senate candidate forum was changed to an industry conversation with Sullivan because Peltola did not respond to the invitation.

  1. And THIS is why the GOP reps and Senators don’t attend townhalls. They get turned into fertilizer shows by petulant toddler Democrats trying to gin up video of themselves getting tossed out for ” our Democracy” and ” Free Speech!!!” That they’re denying the other side. Gotta, get those clicks, man!

    1. Rude disruption at an event for Democrats would never be tolerated. Time to roll up the sleeves and get ready to wack the radical left wingers. Let’s see how well they do when the fists start flying. It’s time.

  2. Yep this same ilk are vandalizing Yes on 2 signs and Republican Signs in Eagle River. This is the modern Democratic Party at its finest.
Heading out sign setting, with a fresh bundle of Sullivan Signs.

  3. If these are in fact Peltola or Alaska Democratic Party paid organizers they should be put on the next plane out and permanently banned from further work in Alaska. If they are the product of Citizens United dark money funded agitation they should be condemned by both. Alaska campaigns can be damn ugly at the end. Stop importing Outside agitators. And hire Alaskans for door knocks.
