Linda Boyle: Dr. David Morens pleads guilty to defrauding the government

By LINDA BOYLE

Aug. 26, 2026 – Some of our well known Covid culprits are once again in the news.

Remember Dr. David Morens, who was a senior advisor to ex-National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci from 2006 to 2022?  He thought his private emails would not come back to haunt him.

And you surely remember good old Dr. Peter Daszak from EcoHealth Alliance who had the grant for the work being done at Wuhan Institute of Virology. And why was he the perfect pick to be the only American to go Wuhan to determine if a lab leak had occurred?  Talk about having the fox guarding the hen house!

Linda Boyle: Will anyone ever be held accountable for the Covid years of deception and destruction?

Morens was indicted in April and charged with five counts for his alleged role in defrauding the US by hiding federal records related to the Covid-19 pandemic.  Two other co-conspirators were identified, one of whom was Daszak.  The other co-conspirator was Gerald Keusch, the former associate director of Boston University’s infectious disease lab.  Keusch once headed the Fogarty International Center which, like NIAID, is part of National Institutes of Health.

No criminal charges to these two co-conspirators have been levied as of yet.

Morens did plead guilty to one count of “conspiracy to commit offenses and to defraud the United States” under a deal reached with federal prosecutors in Maryland.   He faces a maximum of 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, but the court could just give him probation and an ankle monitor. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 12.

‘”By pleading guilty today, Dr. Morens has taken responsibility for what he did, and he will continue to do so,” according to his legal counsel, Tim Belevetz in an email to NPR.

Morens told the federal judge he knowingly diverted emails that he thought were politically controversial to a personal account to avoid the possibility they might one day be publicly released. Morens, Daszak, and Keusch agreed to have their discussions offline.

Documents in the allegations showed how Daszak realized this email exchange could cause them problems if made public through FOIA requests.   Daszak wrote, “[I]f these emails are with reporters, they’ll use them to create stories … with headlines like: Powerful cabal of scientists from within NIH helped draft anti lab-leak conspire to undermine investigation into lab leak theory via back-channel to [senior NlAID official 1].’”

The initial indictment of April 2026 took that statement to heart. The indictment formally accused Morens and the co-conspirators of using his Gmail account to “back-channel” information to Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Enter “Mr. Science” himself.  Thank God he is an egomaniac who documented everything in his “private” diary on a federal computer that he then tried to email to his home computer. I guess Fauci also thought no one could file public records requests for his documents.

Those diary entries described the private conversations Fauci had with Morens.

When Fauci testified to Dr. Rand Paul’s Senate committee in 2024, he said that he was “unaware” that Morens had hid or deleted federal records   He further testified that he was unaware that Morens was trying to back-channel information to him.

Emails between Morens, Daszak, and Keusch that later led to Morens’ indictment showed in May 2024 that Fauci had “back-channel” talks with Morens and allegedly passed on information about EcoHealth Alliance’s $4 million grant that included funding for the WIV.

Morens used a private email account to contact EcoHealth President Peter Daszak on April 26, 2020 and state, “There are things I can’t say except Tony is aware and I have learned that there are ongoing efforts within NIH to steer this through with minimal damage to you, Peter, and colleagues, and to NIH and NIAID”.

“[T]here is no worry about FOIAs [Freedom of Information Act requests]. I can either send stuff to Tony on his private Gmail [sic], or hand it to him at work or at his house,” Morens also wrote in one April 21, 2021, email. “He is too smart to let colleagues send him stuff that could cause trouble.”

While the question still exists as to whether or not Fauci can be federally charged due to the autopen pardon, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier issued a subpoena to investigate Fauci to determine if he “personally profited off the COVID ‘guidance’ he issued.”  Louisiana and West Virginia they would support Uthmeier’s efforts.

I wonder if these attorneys general are only going to look at Big Pharma or at all those awards Fauci put himself in for or the money he made from his book.

Fauci’s lawyers have since launched a legal defense fund for Fauci stating due to the growing number of state and federal investigations Fauci will need substantial resources to pay his expensive lawyers.  But have no fear.  The legal defense fund says that neither Fauci nor the lawyers will have direct access to this fund—a third party will distribute the funds as the need arises. Any leftover funds will be given to “charity”.

Both Fauci and his lawyers maintained Fauci did nothing wrong.

Let the games begin. I’m praying something constructive will occur to pay for what was done to our country and its people during the Covid years.

No one should be denied life saving care because of off-label drugs. No one should have to die alone because of the fear the government placed on all of us.

All this harm to businesses, to our lives, to our children’s education should have never occurred. Natural herd immunity could have ended the pandemic sooner.

Remember, Big Pharma controls a lot of what we see in the media.  Doctors who know the truth have been gaslit.

We at Alaskans4personalfreedom will continue to tell the truth and disclose the facts regarding your health.
