Craig Campbell: Why I’m backing Jamie Allard for House, Eagle River District 23
By CRAIG CAMPBELL
May 5, 2026 – Alaska has reached a pinnacle moment concerning the role of government in our lives and the cost of sustaining such a burgeoning bureaucracy. This election year is going to define what our state will be like for the next decade or more. Will we continue to be a state dominated by government programs and control or will we release the explosive power of private investment and natural resource development to provide economic stability for generations to come?
Eagle River/Chugiak is fortunate to have a representative in Juneau who understands that smaller government and greater private sector investments, supported by excellence in education, are the keys towards a prosperous future. That person is Jamie Allard.
Jamie Allard
Representative Allard has demonstrated her tenacity to stand by her principles and not be corrupted by political pressures in Juneau. She fought against establishing a Democrat controlled “bi-partisan coalition” when Republicans held the numerical majority. She is a budget hawk, who consistently votes to reduce the size and cost of government, while demanding more accountability from government programs.
As a proud US Army veteran, she is steadfast in her support of veterans issues. She is a champion for election integrity, supporting voter ID’s and she is a strong voice against Ranked Choice Voting RCV).
She led the charge to protect the Title IX civil rights for women in sports. Jamie sponsored legislation supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing students rights to participate in sports.
She is a strong advocate for parental rights in education. While strongly supporting education, Jamie recognizes that Alaska is currently spending over $20,000 per year, per student; one of the highest in the nation, while ranking at the bottom of educational accomplishments. She is an outspoken advocate for greater education accountability and standards that will prepare Alaskans to succeed in our great state.
But mostly, Jamie is accessible to her constituents. Because of this, she has done an exemplary job representing our community interests against the legislative cabal currently controlling our state.
Alaska is at the cross-roads this election. Do we continue the path of a decreasing population having to fund a growing bureaucracy, or can we shift direction; stop government growth, contain the cost of bureaucracy, stimulate new economic development, protect our second amendment rights, and improve the quality of education, all while tackling the crime and homelessness that plagues many cities in our great state? We can, but it requires elected officials with the grit to stand up to those who seek to retain the status quo by offering more government solutions to problems government created.
Alaska does not need more money for government; it needs an efficient and streamlined organization that cost effectively provides essential services without intruding into our personal lives. It is imperative Eagle River/Chugiak send Representative Jamie Allard back to Juneau. Don’t be fooled by her opponents. Her demonstrated experience and energetic passion for representing us is unmatched.
Therefore, I encourage everyone to vote for Jamie Allard and send her back to Juneau to continue representing our community.
