By THE ALASKA STORY
April 13, 2026 – A US-led maritime blockade targeting Iranian ports went into effect at 6 am Alaska time on Monday, an escalation in tensions between the United States and Iran after the latest round of peace talks collapsed without an agreement.
The move follows a proclamation issued Sunday by President Donald Trump, directing military forces to interdict vessels connected to Iranian port activity as part of an effort to pressure the regime over its nuclear ambitions. US Central Command said the blockade applies to all maritime traffic entering or leaving Iranian ports, including those along the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman, but emphasized that freedom of navigation through the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz will remain open for vessels traveling to non-Iranian destinations.
According to officials, the escalation comes after Vice President JD Vance held 21 hours of talks in Pakistan with Iranian and Pakistani representatives. Those negotiations failed to produce a breakthrough, particularly on the administration’s central demand that Iran abandon any pathway to a nuclear weapon.
In a series of posts on Truth Social, Trump described the blockade as a response to “world extortion,” referencing Iranian claims that it has placed naval mines in key shipping lanes. He said the US Navy would begin stopping vessels suspected of paying tolls to Iran and would work to remove any mines in the region.
“No one who pays an illegal toll will have safe passage on the high seas,” Trump wrote, adding that any hostile action by Iranian forces would be met with overwhelming military force.
Trump told reporters Sunday night that a temporary ceasefire agreement with Iran, set to expire April 21, remains in place and is “holding well” for now. Still, he warned that American forces are prepared to act if negotiations fail to resume or if Iran escalates further.
The Strait of Hormuz, a narrow but vital shipping corridor connecting the Persian Gulf to global markets, handles a significant portion of the world’s oil supply. Any disruption to traffic in the region has the potential to ripple through global energy markets, raising concerns among US allies and international shipping operators.
Trump has repeatedly stated that preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon remains a non-negotiable objective, describing the regime as “desperate” while signaling that further military or economic measures could follow if diplomatic efforts continue to stall.

He just called their bluff. And there’s nothing they can do about it. Next round will be drone action continuing to decapitate IRGC, Basij, secret police and police leadership in the mosaic regions. It will all be done out of sight of the cameras. Game. Set. Match. Cheers –
Carpet bomb Kharg Island with 250 lb napalm bombs. Turn the island into a smoking hole in the ocean. It can be done with a single airstrike of three B-52s with three other aircraft dropping cluster bombs to ruin the runway and j-dams to ruin the loading docks. Done. 90% of their oil exportation capability gone for the long count. No more money to export weapons to their proxies or import weapons from China or Russia. The games need to end. They have zero intent of repentance. Turn off their money spigot for 20 years or so.
Two delusional neocons commenting above me who will not face fire, but gleefully wish others to.
This blockade will involve hijacking noncombatant nations in international waters. Great way to become a pariah- like pirates.
I’m sure that the public will love paying more for everything with the price of oil headed north.
How are you going to govern neocons with 35% and shrinking?
What are going to do when the marxists take power in November in Congress?
Like leftists you are not so good with unintended consequences. Then again you are quite bit like leftists in many ways.
You’re out of your element, clearly. A voice of sanity in a sea of delusion.
The USS Micheal Murphy and US Frank E. Peterson Jr. are now trapped in the Persian Gulf. They sailed in there over the last few days. If a destroyer is roughly 300 souls on board, then 600+ sailors were put in the bullseye. I pray they have the capability to destroy mass drone attacks. Then the missiles. Hopefully whatever quilt wok they have patch of combined arms keeps them safe. The meat of the blockade seems to be of the coast of Oman and south, so hijacking in international waters.

Again, MIcah hits the nail directly on the head here. The biggest “con” in the neocon movement is the false claim that they are conservatives, which they are NOT in any way at all. Neocons are actually the spawn of the 1960s radical left, and remain pro-big-government statists to this day. They have also been integrally associated with radical Zionism since their beginning, as well, hence their rabid and kneejerk pro-Israel sentiments, which clearly trump any loyalty that they ostensibly maintain towards the USA..
.
I will now await the imminent arrival of Steve-O to blast my comment here as “antisemitic”, while attempting to bury it in a truckload of bovine excrement and professional online troll obfuscation.
Jeff,
There’s no need to point out what you’ve already acknowledged.
“………Neocons are actually the spawn of the 1960s radical left………”
Apparently you spent the ’60’s either sucking on a pacifier or a joint. The “radical left” in the 1960’s set this society on fire doing everything they could bringing an end to interventionist foreign policy aimed at spreading democracy and American interests, which is precisely what the neocon goal is. They were also openly pro communism, which is also 100% opposed to neocon ideology.
> openly pro communism, which is also 100% opposed to neocon ideology.
hahaha,. What a funny joke. Communists/ leftists always seek to limit free speech, just like neocons.
This week-end fox news corporate media “person” Jacqui Heinrich asked Israeli intelligence operative Ben Shapiro this question, “So much of that, ya know, gains traction on social media (speaking of rightist opposition to the Iran war). What do you do to stop terrible narratives like that from taking hold and changing people’s minds and informing their thoughts on things.”
On free speech neocons seek to police conversation, gate keep and then censor / cancel opposition views- just like leftists. Free speech is only for speech they approve- just like leftists . The term “woke right” that neocons often use pejoratively to gatekeep is equally hilarious. More of that confession through projection, just like leftists.
Micah,
I’ve never heard of the “woke right”, so I looked it up and it is hilarious…and it definitely helps explain some commentators here. Thanks for sharing the new term.
“Introducing the Woke Right…some on the Right are starting to play the same [woke] game: not with pronouns or DEI quotas, but with a different brand of targeted shaming, purity tests, and mob tactics for not being right-wing enough; or even racist, sexist, or antisemitic enough. Meet the Woke Right—right-wingers who (sometimes) claim to love God, country, and freedom (usually not too much freedom) but who want to fight for them with the Left’s weapons and through the Woke’s tortured view of the world.
The Woke Right isn’t a secret society or a gang of traitors, at least not for the most part. It’s a tendency—a fever some conservatives catch when the culture war gets hot. They’re not necessarily abandoning many of their core principles; they’re still pro-life, pro-family, pro-faith, but they’re not pro-liberty anymore. Worse, instead of arguing with reason or building strong, voluntary coalitions, they’re adopting the Woke tactics we just defined: moral grandstanding, group identity, victimhood status, and social control through shame and abuse. That’s the Woke Right—same ideas, wrong playbook. Or, same positions, different goals. Or, put better in reference to the Woke Left—same energy (Woke), opposite direction (reaction).
Traits of the Woke Right:
First, moral grandstanding. The Woke Right doesn’t just disagree—they frame dissent as betrayal, good versus evil. It’s not “I think your policy’s off”; it’s “You’re a traitor to the cause!”
Second, identity politics, right-wing style…their tribes are “true patriots,” “real Christians,” or “defenders of the West,” or just “straight, white Christian men.”
Third, enforcing conformity through shame. The Woke Right doesn’t argue—they “cancel” conservatives who stray…This isn’t the robust debate conservatives used to pride ourselves on; it’s the Left’s mob tactics, repurposed to police our own.
Fourth, occupying victimhood status. The Woke Right doesn’t see itself as a voice contributing to the conversations of the day. It sees itself as a dispossessed majority group whose voice has been silenced and sidelined, requiring them to define new conversations entirely on their own terms. They may not openly claim victimhood like the Left does, but the mentality is the same.
Now let’s look at the traits. Start with moral absolutism.
Woke Leftists frame dissent as evil: disagree with their dogma, and you’re a “bigot” or “oppressor.” The Woke Right does the same, swapping “bigot” for “traitor” or “RINO.” Just like the Woke Left uses tons of bad names (racist, sexist, homophobe, transphobe, capitalist, conspiracy theorist, grifter, etc.), the Woke Right has tons too (sellout, cuck, Jew, Goy, faggot, regime shill, neocon, liberal, globalist, controlled opposition, grifter, etc.). These names aren’t meant to describe; they’re made to brand someone an enemy and target them for abuse.
Woke Right is a radical right-wing splinter movement operating within conservatism. Their objective is to take as much of the conservative movement with them into right-wing radicalism as they can, no matter how much it breaks or how much opportunity it brings to the Left. That’s divisive by definition, but it’s almost invisible until it gets pointed out. To cover their tails, they blame the division on the people who spot what’s going on and say something. That means they give conservatives two bad choices: go with us into radicalism without complaining or be blamed for dividing the movement.

Of course that was probably written by a neocon…
I’ve always enjoyed John Stossels commentary, he has one about the “woke right” he says “There is a radical segment embedded within MAGA…that acts the same way, uses the same tactics, acts like the woke left.”
“He fears that next election, the woke right will elect the woke left.”

There’s a short video at the end that goes a little further in depth than the article, pretty informative stuff.
It’s funny, Steve, how all the things that you decry with crocodile tears here are EXACTLY the same tactics that you routinely employ in your insidiously malicious disinformation campaign to support the neocon bipartisan interventionistic foreign policy and the status-quo power structure in general. I notice that you even implicitly endorse the pro-DEI, pro-‘diversity’ and pro-LGBQIUABCXYZ+ talking points of the Marxist radical left, by having attacked me in your usual disingenuous way for mocking those very same talking point.
.
Nothing says “pro-establishment” and “pro-globalist” like a post by Steve-O.
Just a staggering lack of self-awareness on your part as usual Jeff, staggering.
I used to wonder why it was that you are much closer aligned with the likes of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Ohmar, Cori Bush, Pramila Jayapal, and the like than you are to Ronald Reagan, Donald Trump, JD Vance, Charlie Kirk, and Ted Cruz. The term “woke right” that Micah shared here explains your behavior to a tee. I’m not attacking you or using it as a pejorative, just noting that as the articles linked above describe a set of behaviors that you exhibit on a frequent basis.
And once again, Esteban, your projection of your own psychological and intellectual failings onto others could not be better demonstrated.
.
You are truly one of the most maliciously disingenuous and dishonest people whom I have ever encountered. In that, you are completely consistent, going back to your hysterical defenses of the Wuhan Virus clot shot, and the whole Covidian control agenda, four and five years ago, not to mention your raging neocon warmongering advocacy today.
Yet another absolutely tremendous and hilarious display of the “woke right” tactics and traits listed above, well done. Do another one!
The paid pro-establishment troll says “What?”
.
You are not even an Alaskan, Steve, as evidenced by your inability to EVER comment on any local Anchorage-area or Alaskan story. Funny how you ONLY ever comment here on stories that are national or international in scope. I wonder how many other sites you troll in the course of spreading your insidious and malicious pro-establishment disinformation.
.
It is chilling to confront the face of evil.
Haha,
That’s what I’m talking about, just nailing that wokeness right out of the park.
To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, The trouble with our woke friends is not that they’re ignorant; it’s just that they know so much that isn’t so. You sure know a lot that isn’t so and man are you ever putting on a show with your absolutism about things you don’t know. This is a great show on your part, a true display.
With your every specious and disingenuous post, Esteban, you only further demonstrate what a willfully antagonistic troll, as well as what a malicious pro-establishment disinformation agent, you truly are. A more classic example of a sociopath I have never seen. But being a sociopath is just an inherent part of being a traitorous Israel-Firster neocon big-government authoritarian and warmonger.
What ever happened to the Venezuelan boat bombings? The geriatric Fox News crowd misses taking a few blue pills and watching those on repeat.
“………What ever happened to the Venezuelan boat bombings?………”
The boats have been sunk, and the organized criminal leader has been arrested. Games over. Time to move the game board to the Persian Gulf and sink some more speedboats………..this time Iranian.
Now that I think about it, whatever happened to all the concern of the killings of blacks on the Southside? That was always a staple on Hannity.
“……..This blockade will involve hijacking noncombatant nations in international waters. Great way to become a pariah- like pirates……..”
You have apparently ignored the fact that the Iranians have been supplying the Houthis to act “like pirates” at the Bab el-Mandeb Strait for years now firing on all kinds of international shipping. I don’t want to destroy Iran, but the games must stop. The solution is well under way. It just has to be properly finished. The Iranians have every opportunity to save what’s left of their economy by accepting terms.
Thank you, it’s nice to start the day with a good laugh. Although, it appears a couple of people took you seriously.
Ah yes. The regressive stupidity of the clapping seal.
If Trump has to……pick off the crazy-ass ragheads one by one. These bathrobe bastards have been disrupting the entire world for nearly 50-years.
