Democrat lawmakers who appeared in a social-media video urging US troops to defy orders say the FBI has contacted them to begin scheduling interviews, signaling an inquiry into the matter.
It would be the second investigation linked to the video, following a Pentagon statement on Monday confirming that Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona is under review for potential violations of military law, since he is a veteran.
The FBI and Pentagon interest comes after President Donald Trump accused the lawmakers of sedition.
In the widely circulated video, the six Democrat members of Congress, all with prior military or intelligence service, tell troops they are duty-bound to reject unlawful orders.
While military law already requires service members to do so, the video implies that individual troops can personally determine legality, potentially inviting confusion and mutiny within the ranks.
Four Democratic House members said Tuesday that the FBI reached out to the House and Senate Sergeants at Arms to request interviews. They said Trump is “using the FBI as a tool to intimidate and harass Members of Congress.”
View the video in this X post and decide for yourself if these members of Congress have committed sedition:
BREAKING: The FBI & DOJ are reportedly scheduling interviews with the ‘seditious six’ Democrats who urged military members to defy orders from the Trump administration
The Dept of War also said Senator Kelly may face a court martial

Sen. Lisa Murkowski believes they are innocent. She wrote, “Senator [Mark] Kelly valiantly served our country as an aviator in the U.S. Navy before later completing four space shuttle missions as a NASA astronaut. To accuse him and other lawmakers of treason and sedition for rightfully pointing out that servicemembers can refuse illegal orders is reckless and flat-out wrong. The Department of Defense and FBI surely have more important priorities than this frivolous investigation.”
Murkowski was either ignorant of or disregarding United States Code and Uniform Code of Military Justice intentionally to protect her political allies.

Democrats need to do something. Torching the cities in a mostly peaceful protest is kind of run its course of being misreported. Now that the money is being followed. The organization and funding is slowed somewhat. Not as much of that USAID dollars doing the circle back.
None of those featured in the video have commented on what laws they think these troops should question. While they can gather the temerity to make a video suggesting others take action on their advice about behavior that they refuse to name, they don’t even have the backbone to stand behind their words.
The lawmakers reiterated a truth found prominently at WestPoint. Only weakTrump and hegseth and Patel and MAGA cultists would weaponize the administration against them. And Trump called for their execution! Wrap your head around that.
“The lawmakers reiterated a truth found prominently at WestPoint.”
How would you know that Evan and why only West Point?
What truth?
Your second sentence makes no sense and your third is a blatant distortion.
So there is nothing to “wrap my head around”.
It is always fascinating to me when individuals deliberately and knowingly commit an outrageous act such as this and then have the audacity to express frustration and victim hood when they get push-back or have to face potential consequences for said act.
Tax. You can’t wrap your head around the President of the US calling for the execution of six Congress members? My phrasing must be off. How about this. Do you support what Trump said?
Who are you referring to in your last sentence? Not clear.
Evan, except the president didn’t call for the execution of anyone. Stating the penalty for treason is a fact. The president lives loud (to borrow a phrase from Senator John Kennedy), I simply take it as it is and leave agitating over the “hidden meanings” to you.
Furthermore presidents have no say in any proceedings, as any treason charge will be adjudicated in the courts. Read up on the Rosenbergs. If this ever gets to court and they are convicted of and sentenced for treason (which is very doubtful, as sedition is the more likely charge), the only prerogative the president has is to pardon or commute the sentence.
These 6 lawmakers set out to undermine not only his authority, but the authority of any future president by implying that service members AND members of the intelligence agencies, can simply do their own thing, if they and their limited knowledge of the law feel like it. The UCMJ preemptively assumes that all orders from a superior are lawful as a prerequisite.
In other words these 6 lawmakers deliberately made a video to subvert the authority of a sitting president and are now “surprised and hurt” that others are upset and that they now may face consequences for their action.
Tax. I reject your interpretation of the clear statement in the UCMJ. You weirdly choose to support the statements of the most corrupt president in US history at the expense of the simplest explanation – the six told the truth and offered a warning.
Here’s what Trump wrote: “The president said in a later post, “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!” He also reposted “HANG THEM, GEORGE WASHINGTON WOULD!” You are correct that Trump didn’t use the word “execute” and niggle about that if you wish, but Trump’s meaning was 100% clear – the President of the United States of America called for the death of six members of Congress.
Evan, since we have already established that you have not served, or have ever been affiliated with anything military, I really don’t care what you “reject”.
It seems interesting that you give these lawmakers a complete pass for playing politics with the national security of this country. It is telling that none of the 6 could name ANY order from the president that was illegal or could be construed as such. They simply don’t like that he is returning our military back to an effective fighting force instead of a social engineering experiment. Theirs is an effort to undermine troop moral and cohesion and therefore should be reprehensible to all Americans.
Any president faced with another branch of government seriously undermining his authority as commander in chief, has a right to forcefully reject and condemn that behavior.
It would be nice if you got just as worked up about all the times they called him a fascist or certain quarters commiserated that the attempts on his life did not succeed.
Unlike you I understand that any potential punitive actions will come after an investigation, a trial and a conviction and I support a thorough investigation to get to the bottom of this.
Christians are duty bound to Christ to disobey immoral and unlawful orders.
Jeff, what exactly does that mean? Can you explain your thinking, please.
I am further stumped by your addition of “immoral” orders. Morality even in Christian circles is and always has been a hot topic and very personal beyond the broad strokes of the Ten Commandments. Even those rules have heated debates as to their practical application amongst religious scholars and lay people around the world.
To my knowledge “immoral orders” are not part of the UCMJ.
Subterfuge is what the seditious 6 are really guilty of. This is all about ceding executive power to the judicial branch! This will not stand! So cry in your cave, commenter Evan!
Federal judges, Democrats and/or RINO’s are trying to halt everything Trump! Senators Mark Kelly and Elissa Slotkin, Representatives Jason Crow, Chris Deluzio, Maggie Goodlander, and Chrissy Houlahan have stirred the pot big time with their video to our military personnel suggesting that President Trump is issuing illegal orders to them. When Sen. Slotkin was asked for an example of an illegal order Trump has given, she said there aren’t any. So this video is designed to confuse folks and once again is another Russia Russia Russia style attack on President Trump, Commander in Chief, and Chief Executive of our Republic.
Get that Evan? Turn the light switch on the dirty wall of your cave to the ON position!
