May 10, 2026 – There’s no class you can take that truly prepares you for motherhood. No operator’s manual. No way to fully understand the depth of it until the let-it-go moment you become a mom and realize your heart now walks around outside your body forever.
From the first flutter in the womb to the sleepless nights, scraped knees, school concerts, heartbreaks, graduations, and the walk they take into adulthood, motherhood is a lifelong calling — full of joy, sorrow, mistakes, victories, and all the memories. And once you’re a mother, there’s really no going back. The worry, the love, the hope all stays with you forever.

Being a mom is equal parts blessing and sacrifice, joy, and growth. It stretches you in ways you never expected and teaches lessons no classroom ever could. Some days are exhausting. Some magical. Most are a mixture of both.
And motherhood comes in many forms. There are biological moms, stepmoms, adoptive moms, foster moms, grandmothers raising children, and those “accidental moms” who stepped into a child’s life when they were needed most. Some moms are “all of the above.” All of them are important and shape real, human lives.

So today, we celebrate the women who comfort, guide, encourage, pray for, protect, and love with everything they have. They are not men. They are women and they are uniquely different.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. The world is better because of you.

In Alaska what will also plant the seeds into the next generation of mothers and fathers is families; while they honor their mothers is that daughters are included; where if dad is there and brothers that she too gets a invitation to partake in her mothers special day. Because when June comes around the corner then the mothers and daughters get to not only show dad but also a brother how much he means to them.
The instilling of this mindset would further cultivate into the Alaskan daughters and sons that motherhood and fatherhood is an event in their life to look forward to.
Above all it’s my hope that Alaskans today recognize man can’t learn how to truly honor and respect his wife (and daughters) with out the Lord God, and that women can’t learn how to truly submit and honor her husband (and sons) without the Lord God. Because lot’s of Alaskan families fight for the rest of the year except Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, maybe Christmas then go back to fighting and arguing because God’s love hasn’t entered into their hearts.
Happy Mothers Day to all the moms.
Republican mom’s are still the BEST!!!
