House Oversight Committee requests the presence of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz to explain daycare fraud

The US House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has called on Democrat Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Democrat Attorney General Keith Ellison to testify as part of a growing congressional investigation into alleged fraud and misuse of federal funds in Minnesota’s social services programs.

Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., announced that the committee will hold a hearing titled “Oversight of Fraud and Misuse of Federal Funds in Minnesota: Part I” on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at 10 am Eastern Time.  The hearing will feature testimony from Minnesota state lawmakers who say they repeatedly warned the Walz administration about fraud concerns that went unaddressed.

Comer has also formally invited Walz and Ellison to testify before the committee at a follow-up hearing scheduled for Feb. 10.

“Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison have either been asleep at the wheel or complicit in a massive fraud involving taxpayer dollars in Minnesota’s social services programs,” Comer said in a statement announcing the hearings. “American taxpayers demand and deserve accountability for the theft of their hard-earned money.”

The investigation centers on what the committee describes as extensive money laundering and fraud uncovered by the US Attorney for the District of Minnesota involving federally funded social services programs. Comer said the Department of Justice is actively investigating and prosecuting those responsible for stealing billions of taxpayer dollars.

According to the committee, Congress is seeking to determine how the fraud occurred, whether warning signs were ignored, and what safeguards failed under state leadership. Comer said the goal is to expose systemic failures, identify solutions, and hold officials accountable.

“In addition to conducting transcribed interviews with Minnesota state officials, the House Oversight Committee will hold hearings on fraud in Minnesota’s social services programs to expose failures, identify solutions, and deliver accountability,” Comer said. “Next week, we will hear from Minnesota state lawmakers who sounded the alarm on this fraud—and whose warnings were ignored by the Walz administration.”

The Jan. 7 hearing will feature testimony from Minnesota House members Rep. Kristin Robbins, Rep. Walter Hudson, and Rep. Marion Rarick. Additional witnesses may be added, according to the committee.

Comer has requested that Walz and Ellison provide documents, communications, and records related to the alleged fraud that occurred during their tenure. He has also asked the US Department of the Treasury to produce relevant Suspicious Activity Reports to support the investigation and has requested transcribed interviews with multiple Minnesota state officials.

The committee says the hearings are part of a broader effort to strengthen oversight of taxpayer-funded programs and to impose stronger sanctions on those found responsible for large-scale fraud.

The Jan. 7 hearing will be livestreamed.

  1. Unless and until the prosecutions proceed at the Federal level, I’m not holding out any hope for “accountability” at the state level given the rampant (and obvious ) corruption within the Walz administration. His head needs to roll, plus every department head responsible for distribution of the source of the funds.

  2. Get the paperwork for a,perjury charge ready. He is going to try to sell more whoppers than the local Burger King

  3. I wonder if he will use the “knucklehead” defense he is known for portraying himself as, you know the one where he lies about whatever he wants to lie about and then says he’s just a knucklehead. Kind of a weird way to want to portray oneself, I’m too stupid to know better but vote for me and trust me with billions of dollars.

  4. Why not cut to the chase?

How much of this is going on in Alaska, particularly in Anchorage?

Would it not be fun to find out, maybe take down the LaFrance-Constant regime in the process?

  5. Gotta admit that was a lot of cash collected with a burnt out tampon salesman at the helm.
Americans would never had a clue all this loot went to his Somali pet voters if only He and his “laughing hyena” running mate could have fooled enough voters or used the billion dollar campaign fund she was gifted to buy the votes they needed. It would have all been swept under the Whitehouse carpet the way Biden crime syndicate was when Obama was pirateering the ship.
