July 28, 2026 -Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins’ financial disclosure has revealed a previously little-known political and financial connection between the Alaska gubernatorial candidate and a consulting company at the center of a federal campaign-finance controversy in Nebraska.
Kreiss-Tomkins, a Democrat and former state representative from Sitka, reported tens of thousands of dollars in consulting income through JKT LLC. His public-office financial disclosure filed with the Alaska Public Offices Commission identifies Independent Campaigns LLC as one of his clients.
That connects Kreiss-Tomkins financially to a Wyoming company involved in an alleged campaign-finance scheme surrounding Nebraska US Senate candidate Dan Osborn.
Independent Campaigns is no ordinary campaign vendor. The Wyoming company is at the center of federal campaign-finance complaints alleging that Osborn’s campaign operation routed hundreds of thousands of dollars to Osborn’s wife and other relatives through campaigns, political action committees controlled by the Osborns, and a web of consulting companies.
Independent Campaigns was co-owned by Osborn’s wife, Megan Osborn. Federal records show that Dan Osborn’s campaign and political committees associated with his political network paid substantial sums to the company for services described as strategy consulting, candidate recruitment, and other campaign work. A substantial portion of the money ultimately compensated Megan Osborn through the company she co-owned, according to the complaint.
According to mainstream media reporting in Nebraska, Osborn’s Working Class Heroes Fund made a $50,000 payment to Independent Campaigns just two days after the company was created in Wyoming. Dan Osborn was the chair of the Working Class Heroes Fund in 2025.
Osborn also failed to disclose his wife’s consulting income to Independent Campaigns LLC in his first filing last year and had to amend that filing to include it.
Americans for Public Trust, a conservative government watchdog, filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission in March alleging that Osborn, his campaign, and two PACs used a web of political entities to improperly pass money through to members of his family.
The complaint alleges that Osborn, his wife, his daughter, two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law received a combined $434,734 through the political operation. It claims that more than $278,000 went to Megan Osborn and her consulting businesses.
Independent Campaigns reportedly received nearly $200,000 from Osborn’s campaign, the Working Class Heroes Fund, and the League of Labor Voters.
The allegations have not yet been adjudicated by the FEC and an Osborn campaign spokesman told Fox News the operation complied with FEC rules, while Osborn defended his wife as instrumental to his political work.
But after the complaint was filed, the Osborn operation changed course. Megan Osborn stepped away from the consulting firms, moved into a full-time position with her husband’s campaign and announced that she would divest her interest in Independent Campaigns. She was to receive $8,000 a month as campaign operations manager.
Independent Campaigns is identified by Kreiss-Tomkins as one of his clients.
Kreiss-Tomkins’ own LinkedIn profile is even more direct, stating that with Independent Campaigns, Dan Osborn for US Senate was his client.
The Alaska disclosure establishes a business connection between Alaska’s leading Democratic gubernatorial fundraiser and a political consulting company now under intense scrutiny as part of allegations involving the possible illegal use of campaign money.
The Wyoming address adds another layer: Federal filings list Independent Campaigns at 30 N. Gould St., Suite R, in Sheridan, Wyoming. That is the headquarters of Registered Agents Inc., a company that provides incorporation, registered-agent and virtual-office services.
The building is no typical political headquarters. A February report by WyoFile described the 4,125-square-foot building as the registered home of hundreds of thousands of businesses. The company operating there advertises mail scanning, virtual offices and Wyoming business addresses to clients who may be located anywhere.
Another political organization active in Alaska, Way Back PAC, uses the same street address — 30 N. Gould St. in Sheridan — although it lists a different suite number, Suite 4205.
Way Back PAC is a federal hybrid PAC that has backed candidates in Alaska. Federal records list it as an unauthorized committee, meaning it is not formally controlled by a candidate. It has supported Alaska Democrat Mary Peltola and Alaskan Bill Hill and has moved millions of dollars during the 2025–2026 election cycle. The Anchorage-based Ship Creek Group is listed as a donor to the Way Back PAC; that company does campaign work for Democrats and Independents who are essentially Democrats in Alaska. Ship Creek also lists Dan Osborn as one of its clients.
According to reports at the FEC, Independent Campaigns LLC has been paid by only two federal groups: Working Class Heroes Fund, and Osborn for Senate.
Working Class Heroes Fund endorsed Bill Hill for Congress (Alaska) and Dan Osborn for Senate (Nebraska).
The use of the same commercial registered-agent building illustrates how national political organizations can create Wyoming entities, use virtual addresses and move into state elections while maintaining little visible physical presence in the states they seek to influence.
Kreiss-Tomkins has already raised approximately $1.8 million for governor, much of it from wealthy Lower 48 donors in the high-tech industry, specifically artificial intelligence. Six employees of the California artificial-intelligence company Anthropic contributed a combined $372,000, and more than 93% of his reported campaign money came from outside Alaska. One out of every five dollars raised by JKT has come from an Anthropic employee.
Kreiss-Tomkins’ consulting relationship with Independent Campaigns provides a window into the national political infrastructure behind his rapid rise and his ability to raise more money for his campaign than any gubernatorial candidate in Alaska history. A few more connections emerge in this Democrat operative ecosphere:
- Bill Hill is one of four candidates endorsed by Working Class Heroes Fund, connected to Osborn and thus to JKT.
- JKT and Bill Hill campaigns both use Ship Creek Group as their campaign consultants, the same team that brought Alaska Ranked Choice Voting. July 2026 APOC filings show the JKT campaign spent more than $105,000 on printed mailers produced by Ship Creek Group.
- Ship Creek is a donor to the Working Class Heroes Fund.
- Ship Creek Group and JKT were featured in a Politico article “How to Turn a Red State Purple (Democrats not required)” in 2018 in an article that described their strategy for taking over Alaska.

It’s exactly what Alaska voters need to know, and it adds to the evidence that huge amounts of money from outside continually come to Alaska to rig elections and control material parts of Alaska media. It’s a safe bet that this big dollar influence goes beyond campaigns and ballot measures. Obstruction of gas line construction and an LNG export project (under way right now!), public process for mineral development proposals extending for decades without end, and the entire abolition of forest management on the Tongass and Chugach National Forests (the two largest National Forests) are good examples. For some reason Democrats across the US want all Alaskans to either work for government or else be entirely dependent on SNAP, WIC, Medicaid, and the BIA. Look at the numbers in any edition of Economic Trends, published by the Alaska Department of Labor each month, and it’s clear the Democrats are achieving their goal.
This is the complete Californication of Alaska operating full scale right under the radar of illiterate voters. What a sham!

Modern Democrats will stop at nothing to obtain power. All underhanded known and to be known tactics are on table in their quest to hoodwink the Public. It is very clear that JKT is an active participant in the Modern Democratic Machine. So the simple question to ask is who is JKT beholden too, National Democrats or Alaskans. Follow the money is the answer.

Alaska is a very small state in terms of Population. It is therefore cheap, compared to other states, to buy and own politicians. We need to change the rules. As much as I hate to say it, because I generally do not like Government interference, I think we may need to go back a to limited campaign contributions and limit those to Alaska individuals and or companies. Mary Petola, JKT and the Ship Creek Group seem to show us how sleazy politics and those that control politicians can be.
This and suspected ballot harvesting harvesting by the Unions are bringing the downfall of Alaska.
The Landmine is reporting that candidate Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins owes $93,050 and has paid $165,725 to political advertisement firm Debra Schommer Media Group and another $193,524 to C Plus K, LLC these political operatives support candidates such as Zohran Mamdani, Graham Platner, as well as Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush who were “squad” members with the likes of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley.
Candidate Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins is surrounded by radical leftists and apparently by people who make a living fleecing others while flouting the law. The millionaire class is trying to take advantage of the working class vy telling us they have our best interest at heart while they steal our money to lavishly spend it upon themselves.
