Oct. 14, 2026 — Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is coming to Alaska this week for a series of appearances, including a sold-out Republican gala in Anchorage and a Saturday get-out-the-vote rally with Sen. Dan Sullivan in Kenai.
Cruz will deliver the keynote address at the Alaska Republican Party’s gala Friday night, Oct. 16, at the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage. His Alaska itinerary also includes private meetings.
On Saturday, Oct. 17, Cruz will join Sullivan for a public rally at 1:30 pm at the Challenger Learning Center on the Kenai Spur Highway. Community members are invited to meet both senators, and Sullivan campaign yard signs will be available.
Cruz has a strong following among Alaska Republicans. During his 2016 presidential campaign, he won the Alaska Republican Party’s presidential preference poll with about 36.4% of the vote, ahead of Donald Trump’s roughly 33.6%. Trump ultimately won the Republican nomination and the presidency, but Cruz was Alaska Republicans’ first choice in that year’s nominating contest.
The visit also marks a return to familiar campaign territory. Cruz first came to Alaska in 2020 to support Sullivan’s reelection and appeared at an event on the Kenai Peninsula that summer.
His upcoming arrival follows President Trump’s Tuesday rally in Wasilla, where Trump urged Alaskans to reelect Sullivan and Congressman Nick Begich and endorsed Bernadette Wilson for governor. The successive visits bring additional national Republican attention to Alaska as campaigns turn toward getting supporters to the polls.
Saturday’s Kenai gathering will give Peninsula residents another opportunity to hear directly from Sullivan, this time alongside the Texas senator who carried Alaska’s Republican presidential contest a decade ago.

The senator from Tel Aviv will not be helpful. Quite the opposite.
And the irony a year from now, if the dems actually have a viable brief for impeachment, is the good senator from Tel Aviv will join others like John Thune to cast a vote to convict in the senate.
I wish I had an America First candidate to vote for this cycle. Marxists to the left of me and traitors to the right….
Fun little fact before I go…. the Iran war has cost Americans 2,000 per household this year, so far. Americans love fighting and paying for a foreign country’s war.
Ted Cruz in Fairbanks too with Dan S. Sullivan.👍👍 This Saturday at 9:00am. Join us for a “packed” house.
Dan,
I don’t think hitching your election wagon to Ted Cruz is a very good idea. It’s not going to help, but it certainly could backfire.
Yeah Ted will fix it. People love him.
True Conservatives do like him. Yet I confess, many ‘weak sisters’ readily join your ilk and 💩 themselves over the notion of any positive consideration that might be given him. Yeah, that includes you, too, Micah.
OMG! Ted Cruz is universally disliked by every American. What a pathetic idea for poor Dan Sullivan. JD Vance can’t help him. Donald Trump can’t either. But Cruz? The Republicans have no integrity, no platform and no understanding of Alaskan and national politics. So embarrassing. As a democrat, I love it.
