THE ALASKA STORY
Oct. 1, 2026 – The US Chamber of Commerce has launched a $500,000 issue advocacy campaign in Alaska on Thursday morning, reminding Alaskans of the importance of advancing critical energy projects.
The Alaska effort is the first of several issue advocacy campaigns the US Chamber plans to launch across the country. The half-million-dollar investment in Alaska represents a substantial advertising push in the 49th state’s relatively small media market.
The first ad, titled “Tied Up,” focuses on three major Alaska priorities: Ambler Road, Willow [North Slope oil production], and Alaska LNG.
The campaign also encourages Alaskans to call and thank Sen. Dan S. Sullivan, whose work in Washington has been instrumental in moving these projects forward, and urge him to continue fighting for Alaska’s economy. But it’s not an ad for Sen. Sullivan. It’s an ad for progress.
The launch comes one day after President Donald Trump announced a $54 billion South Korean investment in Alaska LNG at the White House. The investment, part of a broader US–South Korea trade agreement, marks a major financing milestone for the long-planned gasline. The Chamber’s issue advocacy campaign arrives as that announcement gives Alaska’s energy development efforts a fresh boost of momentum.
The Alaska campaign also builds on the Chamber’s broader efforts to promote free enterprise, including endorsement events and roundtables across the country.
Those efforts also include the recently launched Opportunity Tour, a six-week trip through 20 states with more than 50 events; a historic $100 million contribution supporting the New Fight for Free Enterprise; and support for the bipartisan Congressional Free Enterprise Caucus.
With “Tied Up,” the Chamber is putting a what in Alaska is considered a massive advertising investment behind a message centered on advancing Alaska’s resource development priorities and encouraging Sullivan to continue that effort in Washington.
