While Schumer pushes Peltola, Senate Leadership Fund drops $15M for Sullivan

April 6, 2026 – The battle for Alaska’s US Senate seat is already drawing national money, with Senate Leadership Fund, associated with Republicans, announcing a $15 million initial ad reservation investment in the state to support Sen. Dan Sullivan’s re-election. This is the group’s largest commitment ever in Alaska. In 2020, the SLF spent $6.43 million in Alaska; that was the year that Al Gross was the Democrats’ candidate.

The Washington, DC–based super PAC said the Alaska buy is part of a broader $342 million nationwide effort to lock in early advertising in key Senate battleground states. The early reservations are designed to secure lower ad rates and establish campaign infrastructure months before the election cycle intensifies.

Senate Leadership Fund described Sullivan, who has served in the Senate since 2015 and is a Marine Corps veteran, as a reliable conservative voice for Alaska. The group also took aim at former Rep. Mary Peltola, who lost her House seat win 2024 and is now challenging Sullivan.

“Senator Dan Sullivan has spent his life in service to America and to the state of Alaska,†said SLF Executive Director Alex Latcham in a statement. “Senate Leadership Fund is proud to support Senator Sullivan’s re-election and expose Peltola’s Far-Left record to ensure she is once again rejected by Alaskans.â€

For months, leftist groups like the 907 Initiative have been pounding the public with negative ads against Sullivan, softening the target as they waited for Peltola to announce her run. The Democrat Senate Majority super PAC, aligned with Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York, has spent between $1 and 3 million to push Peltola and attempt to damage the Sullivan name.

While $15 million is a significant early investment for Alaska, the Senate Leadership Fund’s ad buy represents a small fraction of the group’s overall $342 million national strategy.

The size of the broader SLF effort demonstrates how critical Republicans view the Senate map heading into 2026, particularly as control of Congress could hinge on a handful of competitive states.

The early spending also reflects national Republican concerns about maintaining a Senate firewall if control of the House shifts. If Democrats were to regain the House majority, impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump would become a strong possibility. The Senate serves as the jury in impeachment trials, meaning control of that chamber would determine the outcome.

That dynamic raises the stakes for individual Senate races, including Alaska’s. A narrow majority could make every seat decisive — and a potential Sullivan-Peltola contest one of the more consequential races in the country.

Senate Leadership Fund said its investment will support a full-scale campaign including broadcast and cable advertising, streaming and radio buys, direct mail, digital outreach, data-driven targeting, field operations, ballot-chasing efforts, and get-out-the-vote activities. The group indicated advertising is expected to begin this summer and continue through Election Day.

The early reservation signals that national Republicans are not taking Alaska for granted, even though the state has traditionally leaned Republican in federal races. Democrats, meanwhile, are expected to invest heavily in the state, setting up what could become one of the most expensive Senate contests in Alaska history.

  1. Both are COMPROMISED GLOBALIST WAR MONGERS. Both always voted to give tens and hundreds of BILLIONS of our tax $ dollars and US military weapons and assistance to foreign wars including Israel GENOCIDE of innocent people and lots of children were murdered. Both supported forced mandatory vacations that killed millions. Both supported LOCKDOWNS and TYRANNY over CIVIL RIGHTS. Both supported BIG GOVERNMENT. Both failed to address past Acts of Congress that are not Constitutional. Both voted to fund Israel GENOCIDE and in return Both took our tax $ dollars back from Israel lobbyists. Israel has infiltrated our US federal government. Both left our borders open. Both legitimized WA DC oppression of Alaskans. Both are bad people and crappy human beings and have no business representing Alaskans. Both need to be replaced.

  2. Peltola is a complete psycho. The Little Squaw.ker does not represent the great majority of Alaskans.

  3. Just so you know, Sullivan supports Trump’s ONE POINT FIVE TRILLION DOLLAR request for more wars.

    1. It is not a war but simply executing a death penalty for killing and injuring tens of thousands of innocent people over the last half century including many thousands of Iranian citizens during their own “No Kings” protest. Justice has been served instead of rewarded as in the past. It helps to do some history homework assignments.

  4. Control of senate does not determine the outcome of an impeachment trial. Two thirds is required to convict, irrespective of majority in the senate.

The real impact of a democrat controlled senate in the last two years of a Trump presidency (or any republican presidency) would be inability to get any judges confirmed.

    1. Two thirds is easily accomplished with our very own RINO (daddy) appointed Princess hate monger.

  5. While this $15M investment for Sullivan is huge, I wonder if the focus on traditional ad buys might be missing the younger demographic that’s shifting toward digital entertainment and mobile platforms. Since control of the Senate is so tight, could the candidates’ stances on regulating offshore industries or the expansion of digital platforms like GuiadeCasinoZeusArgentina.com influence younger Alaskan voters who are more plugged into the global tech economy than traditional local issues?
