March 28, 2026 – Demonstrators gathered at Town Square Park in downtown Anchorage on Saturday for a “No Kings” protest that organizers promoted as opposition to federal immigration enforcement and recent US military action in Iran, marking a shift from last year’s events that largely focused on the war in Ukraine.
The Anchorage rally opened with a land acknowledgement delivered by far-left gubernatorial candidate Meda DeWitt, followed by an invocation from congressional candidate Matt Schultz, a pairing that underscored the political tone of the event from the outset. There were signs opposing Sen. Dan Sullivan and Congressman Nick Begich. Schultz, a Democrat, is running against Begich for the one Alaska seat in Congress. This gave the appearance of a campaign rally for Schultz, complete with people attending in what appeared to be their pajamas.
Alaska Public Media described the crowd as “sad, angry, and fed up,” and illustrated its coverage by using a photograph supplied to the media organization by one of the event’s organizers at Stand Up Alaska, suggesting that the public media station coordinated with the protesters.
After some yelling at Town Square, protesters marched to the Delaney Park Strip, where a large section of snow appeared to have been groomed in advance to assist the protesters. Once assembled, participants positioned themselves on the prepared surface, which had been spray-painted to guide their foot placement, forming the words “FUCK ICE” when viewed from above. The staging allowed organizers to capture coordinated drone photographs, which were then distributed to media outlets.
It was unclear who prepared the groomed snow area for the protesters, though its appearance suggested advance coordination and likely involved taxpayer resources. The aerial imagery quickly circulated on social media through accounts affiliated with the organizing groups. Public Media, however, didn’t use that photo but instead posted a photo with a different message spelled out by the group: “ICE OUT.”
The Anchorage demonstration was organized by Stand Up Alaska, Action Alaska, the 907 Initiative, and Alaska March On, in coordination with national progressive organizations including Indivisible and the 50501 Movement. Many of the participants were older white individuals, who appeared to be of retirement age.
Similar protests took place across Alaska. In Fairbanks, several hundred demonstrators gathered downtown. In Juneau, the crowd was estimated at roughly 1,500 participants. Other communities also reported smaller gatherings as part of the nationwide day of action.

The day was part of a broader national “No Kings” movement. Previous demonstrations under the same banner were held last June and October, when millions of Americans reportedly participated in protests across the country.
While earlier “No Kings” rallies emphasized foreign policy issues such as Ukraine, this year’s messaging focused more heavily on opposition to immigration enforcement — particularly ICE.
The Anchorage event’s coordinated staging, political speakers, and prepared aerial imagery reflected an organized effort. Past protests involved Outside organizers flying to Alaska to assist with the spectacle.

These protests are actually demonstrations of how Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) has near totally collapsed any rational thought remaining in the Democrat party. No Kings rallys are supposed to be the response to the highly successful Trump Rallys. But what they really have become are the death moans of a defeated class of people. These are the people who’s lives have been squandered by envy and jealousy. Their mental illness requires them to be in lots of company with the similarly afflicted. After all, misery truly does love company. Lots.
Marxist groups and their useful idiots (Lenin’s term) having their Trumpertantrums.😏. Homer had 80 to 100 at most, many in wheelchairs, walkers, and canes holding signs like “Trump rapes children,” “Ice=Gestopo”(spelled like that), “Impeach Trump,” “Follow the Constitution” and many other nonsensical slogans along one Ukrainian flag from the person still stuck on the 2025 message. Of course there was the usual bevy of identical signs provided by the outside money groups. The protest was low energy and less honking from cars driving by. Worth the read about the groups funding these https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/03/investigation-finds-no-kings-protests-backed-network-hundreds/
Most of these “theatre kids” can’t comprehend the difference between men and women, legal/illegal immigration so the concept of a king versus a president most be very hard to process.
I did see they had the almost obligatory “Vietnam Vet” available for comment about “having fought for this country”. TOM JANIDLO is his name. Well, thank you for your service TOM JANIDLO. In the world we live in it’s important to verify such claims. A FOIA Request has been filed, after all it is public record, and we can see if the National Personnel Records Center remembers his “fighting for this country” the same way he does. The DD 214 clears up a lot of things.
I wonder if the media will try to tell us these are mostly peaceful protests once again? Meanwhile there have been arrests from one coast to the other, even the Portland Police are arresting the “peaceful protesters”.
These “protesters” are complaining about a non-existent monarchy and yet the vast majority of them voted for a Presidential candidate that had not received a single vote to in nearly a decade and was installed by backroom deals, the way monarchies were installed centuries ago. They are for democracy only as long as “democracy” is exactly what their leaders tell them is acceptable. They demand that the rule of law be followed as longs as the rule of law is what their leaders tell them is acceptable, they deny the actual laws that are in place and have been in place, because they follow the script their rulers tell them to repeat. Their leaders continue to use language that incites violence amongst their feeble minded followers and in many cases is borderline treasonous, all while claiming to support the rule of law. The gaslighting from the left really is something to behold, seeing it in action and seeing mindless sheep follow along is nothing less than astonishing.
Walked by Town Square at about 2:00 pm. The “protesters” left their obnoxious signs stuck in the snow, and there was one dude selling t-shirts. Also, the Jehovah’s Witnesses were there. Other than that, all the old dope-smoking hippies had moved on.
Naturally they left a mess.
