Feb. 4, 2026 – Anchorage police have arrested a 42-year-old man accused of setting multiple fires outside the Lowe’s store on Tudor Road Sunday night, causing damage to the building and forcing firefighters to battle several separate blazes around the exterior of the busy commercial property.
According to the Anchorage Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 9:23 pm on Feb. 2 to Lowe’s, located at 333 E. Tudor Road, after reports of multiple fires. The Anchorage Fire Department was already on scene working to extinguish the flames.
When officers arrived, they found several bundles of cardboard burning along both the northwest and northeast sides of the building. Flames had begun damaging the exterior structure.
Investigators believe the fires were intentionally ignited after a Duraflame log was thrown into the cardboard, sparking the blaze.
Police say an adult male suspect had fled the area on foot but was located nearby a short time later.
Court documents reveal Anchorage firefighters had responded about an hour earlier to a campfire in the area, where they encountered what was described as an “uncooperative male.” One firefighter later told police he believed the man matched the individual captured in Lowe’s loss prevention security photo.
Officers later located Falani Solomona near the camp and said he matched both the description and clothing of the suspect.
As he was being escorted to a patrol vehicle, Solomona allegedly made a taunting remark to firefighters.
Solomona was arrested and charged with Arson in the First Degree, Criminal Mischief, and Violating Conditions of Release. He was remanded to the Anchorage Correctional Complex.
Solomona has more than a dozen previous criminal charges in his Alaska court record.
All fires were extinguished, and responders ventilated smoke from the large commercial structure. No injuries were reported.

He’ll be back on the streets in no time at all – thanks to Anchorage’s catch-and-release law enforcement (that is, complete lack of law enforcement) and the fact that it’s a sanctuary city for bums, illegal immigrants and crooks.
