House District 33 Republicans urge US Senate to act on anti-terror funding resolution

House District 33 Republicans voted on Dec. 1 to formally support HR 260, a federal resolution aimed at halting the flow of US cash to the Taliban and affiliated terror networks. The district’s resolution passed 8–3.

HR 260, sponsored by US Rep. Tim Burchett of Tennessee, cleared the House of Representatives in June 2025 but has since stalled in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The measure seeks to end ongoing financial transfers that, according to congressional oversight and reporting highlighted by the White House, have continued to reach Taliban-controlled entities since the Afghanistan withdrawal. In 2023 alone, more than $2 billion in taxpayer funds reportedly moved to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan through weekly installments, and watchdogs say portions of that support continue today.

The issue has gained national attention through multiple media outlets and podcasts, including detailed coverage by former Navy SEAL Shawn Ryan, whose program has focused on the mechanics and consequences of these payments.

In District 33, the resolution was brought forward by Barbara Haney, who urged other Republican districts in Alaska and across the country to press the Senate to advance HR 260. Haney says that more pressure from the grassroots could help compel the Senate to take up the measure and “finish the work” of cutting off all US funds that may end up in the hands of terror organizations.

  1. How can any government be so stupid that billions of dollars are laundered and given to terrorists and nobody notices until there’s an audit?

  2. More than $2,000,000,000.00 in just one year to just one Muslim terrorist organization, how many others are we funding and at what cost besides just the monetary cost?
