During the conversation, Dunleavy described his working relationship with President Donald Trump and how that alignment has shaped Alaska’s approach to federal policy, particularly in the areas of resource development and regulatory reform. Coordination with the Trump administration has increased Alaska’s visibility in Washington and strengthened the state’s ability to advance major infrastructure and energy projects.

A significant portion of the discussion focused on the Alaska LNG pipeline project, which Dunleavy described as a central component of the state’s long-term economic planning. He outlined its potential impact on job creation, energy supply, and Alaska’s role in domestic and international energy markets. The project was framed as part of a broader effort to stabilize Alaska’s economy and reduce reliance on boom-and-bust revenue cycles.

Education policy was another major topic. Dunleavy addressed literacy initiatives, implementation of the Reads Act, and the role of charter schools, linking education reform to workforce development and long-term economic competitiveness. He said improving student outcomes is essential to building a sustainable labor force for Alaska’s future.

Public safety was central to the conversation, with attention to crime reduction efforts in Anchorage and statewide. Dunleavy described coordination between state and local officials, policy changes, and partnerships aimed at improving community safety. He connected public safety to economic development, noting that business growth and investment depend on stable and secure communities.

On economic policy, the governor outlined his administration’s focus on regulatory reform, private sector investment, and fiscal management. He said the goal is to create a predictable business environment while reducing Alaska’s dependence on volatile revenue sources.

Federal relationships remained a consistent theme throughout the episode. Dunleavy said alignment with the Trump administration on energy and regulatory policy has led to faster project approvals and stronger federal advocacy for Alaska’s priorities.

The episode also included discussion of Alaska’s political future and upcoming elections, with Dunleavy outlining his broader vision for the state in areas such as energy development, education, public safety, and economic growth.

John Quick is the host of Northern Ledger podcast and has had guests such as Sen. Dan Sullivan and Congressman Nick Begich on recent editions.

  1. So what is Alaska to do with all of its psycho, Trump obsessed, environmental wacko, LGBTQ weirdo, woke fraudsters?
They are not capable of running their own families, let alone our state government. They are all TDS cases, many afflicted by chronic, recreational drug use, or descendants of addicted druggies of the 60’s and 70’s. In otherwords…….severely diminished mental capacities.

    1. Derangement comes in many forms. For me it was always about too much booze. I’m at my best when I’m completely liquored-up and angry as an unfed pit bull. Of course, I’m old, decrepit and out of fuel. But the liquor keeps me angry and mean at the keyboard. It’s been a good life.

  2. I ask that readers who know of my severe alcoholism and mental derangement to contact Facebook, conservative blogs and reputable state-wide reporting services to describe their experiences about me. In my 50+ years of extreme left-wing politics and hate for Republicans, there must be a few unbiased opinions about me. Just the true facts, please.
