Alaska Republican gubernatorial candidate Adam Crum is reporting a strong start to his campaign fundraising, raising $347,000 in his first financial disclosure with the Alaska Public Offices Commission.

In a statement released by the campaign, Crum said the early financial support reflects growing momentum behind his bid for governor.

“Alaskans are ready for a leader who makes bold decisions, offers no excuses, and just delivers,” Crum said. “The outpouring of support I have received from Alaskans throughout the state is truly humbling and the momentum our campaign has generated and movement we are building continues to grow each day.”

According to the campaign’s year-start report filed with the Alaska Public Offices Commission, Crum received contributions from 209 individual donors during the reporting period. The campaign said more than 60% of the donations came from within Alaska. About $60,000 was from his own wallet.

Crum, who has never held elected office, is running as a conservative outsider, but with an executive résumé in state government. Born and raised in Alaska, he previously served as commissioner of the Department of Health and Social Services during the Covid-19 pandemic.

He later served as Alaska’s Revenue commissioner, where he worked to strengthen the Permanent Fund, modernize state systems, and helped achieve three credit rating upgrades.

Crum has framed his gubernatorial run around five priorities: expanding Alaska’s economy, standing with President Donald Trump against federal overreach, promoting resource development, strengthening families and public safety, and reducing waste in government.

The fundraising report places Crum among the better-funded Republicans in an increasingly crowded field of more than a dozen GOP candidates.

Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom, also running for governor in this cycle, raised just under $18,000 during the same reporting period. She is a Republican.

Other campaign finance reports show former Anchorage Mayor Dave Bronson raised more than $217,000, while Democratic candidate Sen. Matt Claman reported more than $229,000. Republican Edna DeVries has raised just under $11,000.

  1. From the figures Crum actually raised $290,000. Of that 40%, or $116,000, came from Outside.

Unless the 40% was of the entire $347,000, in which case over $138,000 was from Outside.

For a guy with no elected history, and a ‘executive’ appointed history of, one could say, less than stellar results, I’d ask ***who is paying for what?***

  2. Actually, his state executive performance was indeed very good. Lead the state through C19. Got the state bond rating cleaned up. We’ve never had a higher rating.
