May 28, 2026 – A hot mic during a House Finance Committee hearing on Alaska LNG legislation Thursday raised questions about whether Rep. Elexie Moore was participating in the meeting from an airport, airplane, or other travel setting while apparently ordering alcohol.
During the hearing, which featured testimony from the Alaska Gasline Development Corporation regarding the state’s proposed gasline project, Moore’s microphone was left unmuted. Audible over the committee’s broadcast was what was clearly an order for a glass of red wine.
The exchange was heard by committee members and the public listening to the hearing.

House Finance Co-Chair Neal Foster interrupted the proceedings and asked Moore to mute her microphone. The hearing then continued.
It was not immediately clear where Moore was located at the time of the hearing. The Legislature allows members to participate remotely under certain circumstances, particularly during travel. The audible request for red wine, however, led some listeners to speculate she was either in an airport lounge, aboard an aircraft, or at another venue serving alcohol.
Whether Moore actually consumed alcohol during the hearing is not known.
The incident comes as lawmakers are engaged in intensive discussions over legislation affecting the Alaska LNG project, one of the largest infrastructure proposals in state history.
Alaska’s ethics rules emphasize that public service is a public trust and that legislators are expected to conduct official business in a manner that maintains public confidence in government. State employment policies generally prohibit employees from being under the influence of alcohol while performing official duties because of the potential impact on judgment and decision-making.
The Alaska Legislative Ethics Act prohibits the use of state resources for personal purposes unrelated to official legislative business and requires legislators to avoid conduct that could create the appearance of impropriety.
No ethics complaint had been publicly filed regarding the incident as of Thursday afternoon.
Moore, a Republican from Wasilla, was elected to the House in 2024 and serves on House Finance.

Evidence Alaska’s leaders are Drunks!
Which is why the State of Alaska is very dysfunctional.
Ever work in construction Tina? 90% of us are drunks, 10% are recovering drunks!
The difference between those drunks in Juneau and us, we get chit done!
This entire society is strung out on one crutch or another, whether alcohol, illegal narcotics, or prescribed psychotropic meds. You’re also correct about production: actually building, say, a bridge, is 98% engineers, lawyers, politicians, investors, NGO’s, and years of political bullshit, and then a few months of beer guzzling iron workers to finally bolt the thing together while the useless “leaders” move on “planning” (pre-profiting) the next desperately needed infrastructure for twenty or thirty years.
Since all they appear to do is screw off and waste money…why not be baked or sauced? How would we know the difference? Yes, Virginia that’s sarcasm I’m using. Beyond disgusted by what passes for legislators these days
She’s hot, so no problem. She could have made a lot more serious and drastic comments rather than just a wine order.
What if she was getting ready for foreplay and made a request for a particular kind of pleasure? The entire committee would have been giving her their undivided attention.
You might want to think with the head that’s on your shoulders before commenting in the future. That’s the head with the brain……….if you have one of those………….
Here is a post that reflects our falling down society. Good job reaching the lowest common denominator.
As far as the alcoholic minded House member, are any of us surprised we are ruled by such low quality individuals?
In both cases we can and should be better then this.
She probably should have ordered a martini with two olives. Wine sounds a bit relaxed for a committee call-in. But Brian is correct. It was a “wake-up” call for the cute representative. Reggie Taylor sounds a bit defensive, although he would probably be tuned-in to as much smut as he can handle. It usually works that way with holier-than-though hipocrites like Reggie.
This joggles my memory back to when Zack Fields hosted a leg wrestling event with Blondie (not his wife) and not sure who else onsite in one of the legislative facilities and left a mess of empty containers for the janitors to deal with. Maybe during a very late night session??? 🙂
There was a hot lady named Moore who drank on the job ’cause they let her.
One day she forgot her mike too was hot.
Now less of Moore is better.
Valley Republicans don’t seem a very forgiving bunch when it comes to their politicians. Were this a closed primary, I’d figure she’s out. However, there are bound to be cross-over voters in the jungle, so she has a chance. Not knowing who, or what, else is running for her seat….
