Feb. 19, 2026 – A new statewide poll conducted by Cygnal shows Alaska Congressman Nick Begich with a commanding 25-point lead in Alaska’s US House race, an early indicator of strength as he seeks re-election.

According to the survey of 504 likely general election voters conducted Feb. 2–4, Begich earns 43% on the initial first-choice ballot. Democrat Matt Schultz trails at 18%, with Bill Hill at 7%, and 28% undecided.

That puts Begich 25 points ahead of the next closest candidate.

Among undeclared voters, the poll shows Begich leading by 9 points.

After respondents were read short biographies of each candidate, Begich’s support increased five points to 48%, while his opponents’ numbers remained largely unchanged. Undecided voters dropped to 15% on the informed ballot.

In a statement accompanying the poll release, Begich said:

“I am committed to continue putting in the work for Alaska, building opportunities in our state, and ensuring the next generation of Alaskans can afford to live, work, and raise a family in the place we love.”

Cygnal noted that it polled Alaska late in the 2024 cycle and projected that Begich would receive 52.1% of the vote after ranked-choice tabulations. He ultimately received 51.2%, placing the firm within nine-tenths of a point of the final result – an outstandingly accurate result.

The margin of error for the new survey is ±4.36%. Voters were interviewed via live phone calls and SMS, and results were weighted to reflect a likely general election electorate.

While it is early in the 2026 cycle, the numbers suggest Begich enters the re-election campaign with significant momentum and a substantial lead over potential challengers. As of Dec. 31, he had raised $3.23 million for his 2026 reelection campaign, and he has over $2.2 million on hand.

  1. Wish I had Nicholas’s charm and work drive. I’m just an old trust baby and radical hippie with long gray hair and sagging skin. My governors race depends on one thing……. the popularity and decency provided by the name Nick Begich III. It’s all I have going for me. You can even ask Mark.

  2. Nick Begich repeatedly voted to keep the Epstein files covered up. Nick Begich voted to fully fund SNAP despite the amount of fraud exposed, and consistently votes to send money to foreign powers who actively work against the best interests of the United States. Nick has been remarkably quiet on the import of foreign workers to take American Jobs and has helped the uni-party further weaken the American dollar.
About what you can expect from a Begich I suppose

    1. Alaskans like yours they should recognize opinions likes yours are to sow seeds of discord and widen the division on the right for Left and Democrat growth on Alaska.
These kind of opinions are Democrats to distort the truth not tell the truth.

  3. No politician in Alaska has anything close to a 25-point lead in a contested race. Look at the results for literally any election in the state. This is fake.

  4. What always matters is how the district feels about a representative or senator not those opinions whom live outside the state and districts. Where opinion counts is the state or district where one’s voters come from and how they feel and think.
