Two Portland police officers were shot and wounded Monday night in the Lloyd District of Northeast Portland, prompting a large-scale police response as officers searched for the suspect through the Sullivan’s Gulch neighborhood.
The shooting came on the heels of violent unrest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, National Guard, police, and a terroristic church invasion in Minneapolis, adding to growing concerns about coordinated or copycat violence across multiple cities. The violent rhetoric from the Left may be fueling a rise in actions against law enforcement.
According to Portland Police Bureau, officers concluded an extensive search late Monday night without locating the suspect. Authorities released two photographs and a detailed description: The suspect is a Caucasian male in his mid-30s with facial hair, wearing a black baseball cap, a black jacket over a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black shoes. He was last seen carrying a black backpack and a green shopping bag. Investigators believe the suspect is armed with both a handgun and a knife and consider him armed and dangerous.
The shooting occurred in a busy area that includes residential neighborhoods, retail centers, and transit corridors. Officers flooded the area, setting up perimeters and conducting door-to-door searches as a precaution while the suspect remained at large.
Both officers were transported to a hospital and are reported to be in stable condition, according to police officials.

If a civil war launches, it will be in Minneapolis and Portland. Look no further than the governors and mayors of MN and OR/ Minneapolis and Portland to initiate and spark the fury.
Naomi. What, you think ICE is innocent and blameless? They are in Minneapolis and Portland for one purpose: disruption of normalcy using illegal tactics and cruelty simply to provoke a response from previously happy now supremely pissed off and fearful citizens. Once that occurs, and apparently it has happened in Portland where the two policemen were shot (police or ICEare interchangeable in the face of protecting family and homes), It WILL NOT BE the mayors or governors who escalate the existing civil war, it will be more violent tactics by a lawless federal government.
Evan, why do you keep insisting that the United States has no immigration laws or citizenship requirements?
M. John. I understand that the United states has immigration and citizenship requirements. ICE and CBP are the agencies to enforce that. But both have strayed from their mission. They are now domestic terrorists, attacking, illegally arresting, shooting and murdering American citizens. They create the opposite of safety. Do you support that M.John? Every ICE agent needs to retreat and ICE needs to start again with lawful procedures and a respect for human freedom and dignity.
Absolutely false. In every single situation that has turned violent, the violence was INITIATED by “peaceful” protesters, paid agitators or illegal aliens who decided to become violent instead of going along peacefully. Throwing rocks, bottles or other objects, blocking ICE vehicles, sometimes purposely crashing into those vehicles, blocking entrances to federal buildings are all examples of violence, NOT acts of peaceful protest. What exactly are you claiming is unlawful about their procedures? You claim to support the laws, but ANY attempt to enforce them is met with violence by your people. You are a hypocrite.
Singh, Biden started all this strife by straying from his mission by bringing in 15million illegal alien criminals without due process. If he hid them in the Whitehouse, or Smithsonian Institute, or anywhere, then ICE would have been justified in entering those buildings to arrest them as well. Certain state and municipal authorities support or incite interference and violence against ICE as it merely seeks to enforce federal law. Sadly, your commentary is factually misguided. We know you can connect the dots. We’re pulling for you.
ICE reaps what it sows. Peace will begin when ICE departs
What does ICE have to do with Portland PD, besides the fact that Portland PD does not cooperate with ICE? And how does randomly shooting two Portland PD officers display any sowing of what ICE does? The nonsensical and confused mind of leftist agitators who resort to violence is something to behold.
…and what exactly has ICE sowed? The better question is what did these paid-for agitators sow?
ICE is doing the same actions the agency has done for decades, namely execute removal orders and arrest individuals illegally in the country. They did that under Bush, Clinton, Obama (check out the CNN report about a ride along in May of 2016)
If you delude yourself that peace will break out if illegal murderers, rapists and fraudsters stay on our streets, I have a bridge to sell you! Somehow you seem to imply that these violent rioters are just “expressing displeasure with the government” while throwing rocks, frozen water bottles and fire works, breaking into law enforcement vehicles and stealing weapons or assaulting officers…..Give me a break! That’s what anarchy looks like!
Who decides when peace will begin? The paid antifa professional agitators?
Peace here will begin when YOU depart, hopefully soon
For someone who claims to be so very intelligent, you miss so much, Evan. Portland doesn’t cooperate with ICE. Why shoot their local officers,if ICE are the problem?? Either you, or your ideological allies are blindly raging against targets of convenience
