Begich shatters Alaska US House fundraising record with nearly $1 million Q4

By THE ALASKA STORY

Congressman Nick Begich announced that his re-election campaign raised nearly $1 million from more than 29,000 individual donations in the fourth quarter of 2025, setting a new Alaska record for a Republican US House candidate in an off-year reporting period.

The strong fourth-quarter performance capped off a record-breaking fundraising year for the freshman congressman. Begich’s campaign reported more than $3.2 million raised in 2025, surpassing the previous off-year record set by Democrat Mary Peltola, who raised $3.195 million in 2023. Begich also reported a record $2.28 million cash on hand at the end of 2025, exceeding Peltola’s $1.77 million during her comparable off-year cycle.

“I am grateful for the thousands of patriots from across Alaska and the entire country who have invested in our re-election campaign,” Begich said. “They know the value of the meaningful work we are doing on behalf of our state, and the importance of keeping this momentum going. Thanks to their support, we are in the strongest financial position any Alaska candidate for U.S. House has ever been headed into an election year.”

Begich, who took office one year ago in January, has positioned himself as a highly active lawmaker. He led the nation in legislation passed into law and bills advanced out of the US House during his first year in office.

The congressman is the grandson of former Rep. Nick Begich, who represented Alaska during the early years of statehood and was lost in a plane crash in 1972.

Begich is being challenged by Democrat Matt Schultz, an Anchorage pastor and political activist originally from New York, in the 2026 election. Schultz has built a profile in progressive political and immigration-activist circles and is mounting a challenge from the political far left.

With more than $2.28 million already in the bank and a record-setting donor base, Begich enters the 2026 election year with one of the strongest financial positions ever held by an Alaska U.S. House incumbent.

  1. Little wonder Peltola decided not to run against NB3. The squaw.ker needs not be shamed twice in a row. Now it’s Dan Sullivan’s turn to shame her. And the majority of Alaskans will shame her too.
