Alaska Family Council hosting ‘Never Extinguished’ events focused on truth, courage, and protecting families

The Alaska Family Council will hold two major events next week, themed “Never Extinguished – Courage to Keep the Light Shining,” as part of its mission to strengthen and protect Alaska’s families through faith-based education, advocacy, and community engagement.

The gatherings are set for Friday, Nov. 14, in Wasilla, and Saturday, Nov. 15, in Anchorage. Both events will feature nationally recognized speakers addressing the cultural and moral challenges facing families today, particularly the growing influence of transgender ideology on children and public policy.

Chloe Cole, a 21-year-old woman who transitioned as a child and later detransitioned, will speak from personal experience about the devastating impacts of gender-transition procedures on minors. Her story affirms the council’s broader message about the need for compassion, truth, and courage when engaging with young people who are struggling with identity issues.

Joining her is Logan Lancing, author of The Queering of the American Child, a book that examines how gender and sexual ideology are reshaping American education and childhood. Lancing’s work explores how activists use cultural institutions to redefine foundational moral principles, and he challenges parents and faith leaders to stand firm in protecting the innocence and formation of children.

The Council says this year’s theme reflects both remembrance and mission, including honoring the recent passing of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, whose life inspired many to live with conviction and purpose. Echoing Ephesians 2:10, the Council reminds participants that “we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

For nearly two decades, the Alaska Family Council has served as a non-profit Christian public policy organization focused on five core areas: communicating truth, influencing public policy, promoting active citizenship, equipping grassroots leaders, and strengthening church involvement. Through research, education, and legislative advocacy, the group works to ensure that biblical values remain a guiding force in public life across Alaska.
