Oct. 27, 2026 – Three Alaska gubernatorial candidates participated in an Alaska Children’s Trust forum Monday evening, while Republican Bernadette Wilson chose to campaign elsewhere.
Republicans Dave Bronson and Treg Taylor joined Democrat Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins for the event.
The forum’s host has an established record of promoting gender-identity distortions for children and teenagers through its child abuse prevention work.
Alaska Children’s Trust describes itself as the statewide lead organization for preventing child abuse and neglect. Its mission includes strengthening families, advocating for policy changes, and supporting communities so children grow up safe and healthy.
But its published guidance also advances radical recommendations about gender identity.
In a Pride Month article titled “Pride Is About Every Child, Every Time,” ACT recommends that afterschool providers use name tags allowing students to identify their pronouns. The organization presents the practice as a way to signal acceptance, including when teenagers are not ready to disclose their pronouns.
The same article encourages adults to discuss gender identity with young people and deliberately select movies featuring transgender, gender-fluid, and gay characters to show young people.
Its resource list directs readers to Identity Inc., Choosing Our Roots, The Trevor Project, and GenderCool, all gender-warping organizations. The article also features an account from a 14-year-old transgender youth describing parental support.
ACT’s promotion of this approach extends beyond its Pride Month messaging.
In another article, President and CEO Trevor Storrs highlighted the Fairbanks Queer Collective’s LGBTQ Family Support and Education Initiative. He described workshops led by queer youth and community leaders that helped families discuss their children’s identities and strengthen emotional connections.
Those materials document ACT’s support for social affirmation of young people’s gender identities.

MAGA thinks the LGBTQ are trying to force their lifestyle on them, but I’ve never had a trans person knock on my door and try to convert me. On a more positive note Pete Hegseth is going to get impeached after Dem’s retake the House and the Epstein files will finally get released! Cheers.
The files would have surely been released by Biden and the Dem Congress if they weren’t so damaging to so many Dems. And while no person confused about their identity have knocked on my door, I have seen a confused boy maul a girl in a wrestling match and a confused boy steal a medal from a girl in a track meet. I feel for those with gender dysphoria and I hope they are getting professional help.
