Oct. 24, 2026 – As co-chair of the Education Committee in the 2024 Alaska Legislature, I was part of the Republican majority that led the charge to increase the Base Student Allocation by the largest amount in Alaska’s history, with accountability measures in place. Unfortunately, the results have been minimal.
School districts are responsible for managing their own budgets, hiring, classroom sizes, and salaries. Unfortunately, the NEA and teachers’ unions fought against SB 140, legislation that would have provided teachers with $5,000, $10,000, or $15,000 in bonuses over three years.
I will continue to support education, and accountability must be a priority. Without meaningful accountability and improved student outcomes, parents will continue to remove their children from public schools and seek other educational options.
I am the ONLY candidate in District 23 who has raised children in the Anchorage School District’s public school system over the past 20 years. I have firsthand experience with our schools, and I understand what our community wants and expects from its education system.
I will not cater to special interests that seek to undermine parental rights. I believe parents have the right to know what is happening in their children’s lives, including when school personnel are involved in decisions about a child’s name or identity. I also oppose allowing biological boys to compete in girls’ sports or share locker rooms with girls, and I believe parents should be involved when students face significant personal decisions.
Our children are not yet mentally, emotionally, or intellectually mature enough to navigate some of the complex and consequential issues being placed before them in our public schools without appropriate parental involvement and guidance. It is time to put an end to practices that undermine parental rights and expose children to situations they are not developmentally prepared to handle. Our schools should be places of learning, encouragement, and opportunity—not places where parents feel excluded from decisions affecting their children.
I will continue to stand up for our children, our families, and the best education Alaska can provide.
It is time to hold everyone accountable: principals, school boards, superintendents, and the National Education Association (NEA who has endorsed my opponent). We must address the failures within Alaska’s education system and demand better outcomes for our students.
Local leadership has a responsibility to deliver results, and our community deserves better. My opponent does not have the same firsthand experience of raising children through the Anchorage School District’s public schools, from kindergarten through graduation, and then seeing them move on to college. That experience matters.
Furthermore, my experience in government and education gives me a practical understanding of how our institutions operate, where accountability is lacking, and what needs to change. Experience matters, and our children’s future is too important to leave in the hands of leaders who lack the necessary understanding of these issues.
If we want better student outcomes, we must hold our local education leaders accountable. We cannot continue to blame everyone else while ignoring the decisions made by the people responsible for running our schools.
I have the experience, the commitment, and the willingness to fight for the changes our community deserves. Our children’s future depends on it. I ask for your vote on Nov. 3.

Ms. Allard is one of the best conservative fighters in Alaska. She and Bernadette would be a tremendous team in Juneau. And I don’t mind saying this, as a VN vet, Allard has a pair of sexy eyes.
