Oct. 12, 2026 – Rep. Rashida Tlaib has given Americans two very different ways to understand a federal search warrant.
When FBI agents searched President Donald Trump’s home in 2022, it was all accountability, she said.
When Homeland Security agents searched Rep. Ilhan Omar’s home on Oct 12, 2026, it was clearly fascism, she said.
The Michigan Democrat’s own words provide the comparison.
On Monday, Homeland Security Investigations agents searched Omar’s DC-area residence. The Justice Department confirmed that agents executed a judicially authorized warrant as part of an ongoing federal investigation. The inquiry involves alleged immigration fraud, including paperwork completed by Omar’s father when she was a minor.
Omar responded by accusing Trump of political intimidation and declaring: “I will not be silenced.”
But it was fellow Squad member Tlaib who supplied the most revealing response.
“DHS raiding a member of Congress’s home is exactly what a fascist police state does,” she wrote on X. She accused the president of weaponizing the federal government against political enemies. Fascism … that old saw.
That was certainly not the standard Tlaib applied to a former president when his home was raided.
After the FBI searched Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence on Aug. 8, 2022, Tlaib told Michigan Advance that members of her community were thrilled by the action. She described Trump as someone who believed he could evade the law and argued that his former office should offer no protection from accountability.
Her principle was emphatic:
“No one is above the law and I’ve said that over and over again.”
Over and over again — until federal agents arrived at the home of her closest political ally and fellow Muslim. Then the language changed.
The demand for accountability became a denunciation of a police state. The insistence that powerful people receive no special treatment gave way to outrage that investigators dare search a congresswoman’s residence.
If Tlaib believes the Omar search was abusive, she should explain what makes it abusive beyond the identity of the person whose home was searched. What was defective about the warrant? What evidence shows investigators crossed a legal line? What establishes that the investigation is a pretext? The answer is that she does not know. She’s just reacting and using the opportunity to say the “F” word: Fascism.
Other Democrats quickly rallied behind Omar. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez characterized the search as an unprecedented abuse of power. House Democratic leaders also condemned it. The operation occurred just weeks before the election, and its timing deserves examination alongside the evidence supporting it.
Yet they rejoiced when Trump’s home was raided.
The Mar-a-Lago investigation offers another reason to resist instant verdicts. That search led to a federal indictment, but the classified-documents case against Trump ended without a trial or conviction. Judge Aileen Cannon dismissed it in July 2024 on grounds concerning actions of special counsel Jack Smith.
Omar’s declaration that she will not be silenced is a political response to an investigative action. She has always been free to speak.
What she and her fellow Squad members cannot credibly do is insist that searching a Republican’s home demonstrates the rule of law while searching a Democrat’s home inherently demonstrates its collapse.
Tlaib’s 2022 principle was sound: No one is above the law.
The question now is whether she still means it when the person under investigation belongs to the Squad.

Send Omar’s lousy anti-American ass to Greenland. She can work in a slave labor camp with a posthole digger searching for Trump oil. Send Lisa Murkowski to Greenland for her supervision and welfare.
It’s weak journalism to equate the purpose of the two investigations only because of the shared word “raid”. For example, both Bush and Obama were presidents, but they were far from equal.
True comment. Bush was born and reared in Texas. Obama born in Kenya (his own brother knows this,) and raised mostly in Indonesia. Spent some time in Honolulu in very expensive prep high schools. America received 8 years of a phoney American and homosexual as the POTUS. Shameful part of our history.

And if a journalist does more than equate a single shared word, would you then make a relevant point or would you find a single shared word to try and find a tortuous path to make a point of some sort…well we already knew the answer to that.
You and your fellow travelers do not understand the word Fascism, you cheer it when it is in your favor and since we all know Fascism is a leftwing ideology it is always in your favor, yet you denounce anything that you disagree with as Fascist, even when it has nothing to do with Fascism.
Either laws are applicable to all or they aren’t. You’ve made it clear that the left thinks that the law only applies to some, and only when they are in power. Fascism is at home on the left and always has been.

Extreme Nationalism and Militarism: Prioritizes the collective nation or race above individual rights, often glorifying war and military strength as tools for national rebirth.
Suppression of Opposition: Forcibly silences dissent, bans rival political parties, abolishes free elections, and uses state police or paramilitary groups to control society.
Rejection of Democracy and Liberalism: Opposes democratic pluralism, individual liberties, communism, and socialism.
Scapegoating: Capitalizes on economic and social crises by blaming minority groups, immigrants, leftists, or external enemies for national troubles.
Damn good description of the Trump administration, yes? Anything Leftist in there? No. Agree?

Firstly, the Trump raid was purely political, you are welcome.
Secondly, the swindler, Omar’s raid is truly a criminal investigation. Don’t believe me?
Do some investigation beyond the commie media you absorb. Note that the D.O.J. got a D.C. Judge, ( read DEMOCRAT) to sign off on the warrant.
Futher on, note the complete lack of ranting and wailing in the media from top Democrap leaders, ( outside of Tailb, AOC and Tampon Timmy). Reason? Democrap leadership knows full well the extent of the Somali corruption.
I’m pretty confident this action by the D.O.J. will lead to charges and ultimately convictions.

The Mar-A-Lago raid has been completely proven a rude attempt at taking out the leading candidate in a presidential race. Near the same time, completely unsecured cardboard boxes full of classified documents were found in Joe Biden’s garage, and also in some random college’s library, given to them by Biden, open to access by numerous people with no clearance at all. The Biden administration lawyer tasked with looking into that situation announced that Biden wouldn’t be investigated for the documents because he was too mentally incompetent to be held responsible.
Interestingly, one statement that the America-hating foreign muslim Omar has not made is “I did not commit immigration fraud, I did not marry my brother.” I wonder why she wouldn’t just say that.
