The Alaska Story moves the needle — and we need your help to keep going

Aug. 24, 2026 – In just 10 months, The Alaska Story has become a major voice in Alaska’s media landscape.

We publish a newsletter three mornings a week, bringing readers the news, analysis, and stories shaping our state. Between newsletters, we publish five to seven original news articles every day on this web site, covering Alaska politics, elections, public policy, energy, resource development, public safety and the people whose decisions affect our future. We just hit 22,000 followers on Facebook, our primary social media page.

We do it while also presenting a conservative point of view that is absent from Alaska’s established media.

The response has been extraordinary.

More than 32,000 people now subscribe to The Alaska Story newsletter. Our reporting receives tens of thousands of views every day, and readers have posted more than 14,000 comments in our first nine months.

Those numbers tell us something important: Alaskans want this kind of reporting.

They want news that recognizes the importance of responsible resource development, limited government, public safety, secure elections and individual freedom. They want political reporting that asks difficult questions and does not simply repeat the preferred narrative of government officials, powerful organizations or the political establishment.

They want a place where conservative Alaskans are not treated as lesser beings.

The Alaska Story is moving the needle. Our reporting is being read, discussed and shared across the state. We are helping shape the public conversation, bringing overlooked stories into view and holding elected officials accountable.

But producing this volume of original and fearless Alaska news takes time, research and resources. It means following developments early in the morning and late into the evening. It means reviewing public records, tracking campaigns, watching government agencies and publishing quickly when news breaks.

Most importantly, it means remaining independent. Not beholden to a party, but very much devoted to mission.

We value every single person who reads, subscribes, shares an article or joins the conversation. We are deeply honored that more than 32,000 subscribers have invited The Alaska Story into their inboxes.

Now we must keep going.

Too much is at stake. Alaska faces consequential decisions about energy, resource development, elections, government spending, and the kind of state we will leave to the next generation. A strong and independent conservative news voice is not a luxury in this environment. It is essential.
